Tried these amber ales last weekend, really like the Anderson Valley Boont Amber. Slim pickings of special holiday beers at local grocery store.
Big fan of Ambers….they often get overlooked in favor of the more-trendy IPA’s.
Had Anchor’s Christmas & New Years beer the other night……excellent as always.
Great recommendation @Power13 - hard to find over the pond, but I managed. Super fresh!
That’s awesome….I glad you found some!!
Back in the ‘90s…. The Sierra Nevada Celebration bottles came in little wooden crates. They were perfect size for keeping Compact Disks. Would get the beers, consume, keep the crates.
Looks like I missed out on the Anchor holiday beer this year. Local guys only brought in a few cases and we weren’t quick enough.
If you guys are enjoying AnchorSteam in general, it’s worth finding the Liberty Ale. I think that’s one of their best. It’s fantastic on tap.
Agree… good Ambers, Reds, ESBs all need more love.

One of my favorite Tripels. If you got the chance to try them
- Tripel D’Anvers
- Tripel Karmeliet
- Westmalle Tripel
Not beer but this has been my jam lately. 6% ABV, so not regular kombucha. Kinda pricey but my wife got me a big case for my birthday, which we’ve been enjoying thoroughly. Normally I like pale ales and pilsners.
It’s very good but hard to get around here. I should have bought more when I got it the first time. Sold out now…
Unfortunately nothing at the moment, 4 weeks post positive test and my taste is still at more or less nothing. Pity really cos I’ve got some lovely stouts and DIPAs waiting.
For those in Australia, really enjoying this sour from White Rabbit, nice tropical fruits, perfect in the warm weather.
Coors or Coors light if I’m training a lot. Can’t get myself to appreciate IPA’s
Liked the Boont Amber Ale so much I gave this a try:
Out of season but that’s Grocery Outlet for ya. Probably need to wait until June for the Winter Ale They did have 3 nice Paulaner Octoberfest 1 liter cans of beer with a commemorative 1 liter mug for $3.99 - Ein Maß!
