Not a problem. Some of those are hard to classify and place. Many could be in 2 or more sections.

What cycling books you been reading or recommend?

I have been reading the 1st edition of Greg LeMond’s Complete Book of Cycling on the Internet Archive. It’s provided a lot of insights on how cycling used to be, although obviously most of the information is out of date (he suggests counting your pulse and cadence manually while riding to determine proper gearing and effort levels!).

Interestingly, I measured my inseam and my saddle height and found that I had been riding basically down to the millimeter exactly what the LeMond formula (actually the Guimard formula), although that formula assumes you are using 175 mm cranks, Campagnolo toe clip pedals, and thick old fashioned shoes.

If someone made a similar book with slightly more concise writing, more figures and illustrations, and up to date information (with some historical context about how the way things used to be), it would be a great resource for new cyclists.

I’d like to read one of Matt Fitzgerald’s books, but I’m not sure if to start with The Endurance Diet or Racing Weight. What would you recommend?
Something about me: I have a lifestyle that I think it’s quite healthy. After years of hitting the gym I’m at ease with counting calories and knowing which foods to eat and which ones to avoid. I’m also quite disciplined with those choices. I tend to be lean and for me it’s hard to put on muscle, while it’s easy to lose weight. I’m not overweight, but I’d like to shed a few pounds without compromising performance. I don’t race, but I like to push myself and see improvements. Typically I follow low volume plans.

Endurance Diet - pretty sure it came after Racing Weight, and has everything in Racing Weight plus more. The only part of Racing Weight I still go back to is the sample athlete daily diets, those are interesting (but easy enough to find online for various pros across sports).

My apologies if this has been mentioned above, but I’m reading The Death of Marco Pantani, and it is fascinating (if quite dark). Well worth a look.

I think “The Rider” by Tim Krabbe should be on the entertainment section. Fantastic book about a 150lm cycling race, highly entertaining

The Rider, by Tim Krabbe - 40 years old, but a classic. An account of a fictional one-day race in France from the perspective of one of the racers. Atmospheric and gripping, I throughly recommend it.

@chad & @mcneese.chad feel free to delete this blatant self-promotion but I think you’ve (@chad) quoted work from my book a couple times on the podcast and it’s in pretty good alignment with the TR recommendations for nutrition in general. Seems like an interesting resource for a few on the forum already.

As would be this one for folks interested in body composition improvement.

I added the Amazon based links to both books in the OP. I hope that is OK, since it is consistent with the others I have added. I see no problem with your links here, but wanted to match the other info I already applied.

Great read on how time crunched athletes can become faster cyclist. I actually read this before purchasing a TrainerRoad subscription. Written by the owner of CTS.
