If those days have workouts scheduled, you’ll be offered an Endurance workout or a full Rest Day to prevent long-term fatigue. Indoor and Outside Workouts

TrainerRoad makes it easy to follow your training plan wherever you ride. Every structured workout in the library has an indoor and outside version, so you can complete your plan on the trainer or out on the road. Outside workouts include clear step‑by‑step instructions that can be sent directly to your Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead cycling computer.

You can also schedule weekly Solo or Group Rides or even swap a TrainerRoad workout for them. When you do, the system provides you with training guidance on how to approach that ride, ensuring you target the energy system scheduled for the day. This way, you can enjoy the rides you love while still staying on track with your plan.


Garmin Edge

Flexible Training Schedule

TrainerRoad will automatically recommend a training schedule based on your training approach and imported training data. You will see an outline of what a general training week will look like, but you can customize your schedule in the training week by dragging and dropping workouts to the days you’d like to train, changing durations, or even the workout type.

If you need to adjust when you train during the week, you can do that directly from your TrainerRoad Calendar using the Edit Weekly Schedule tool or the Right-Click Capability on the go. Whether you are doing solo rides, group rides, or Zwift races, TrainerRoad plans let you fit the training you enjoy most without losing structure.

You can also use the Check Volume feature to quickly check your plan volume. We recommend checking your plan volume at the start of each new training phase to make sure you are on track with the best possible plan volume.



Zwift Integration for Structured, Social Riding

With TrainerRoad’s Zwift integration, you can now enjoy an immersive virtual world while sticking to your structured training. Planned TrainerRoad cycling workouts will be pushed to Zwift automatically and Workouts completed in Zwift will be pulled back into TrainerRoad.
