Triathlon skip build or speciality phase?

Hi,

I am returning to triathlon training after around 7 years out! Completed an Ironman back in 2017 so I have a good idea of how to train etc..

Question is:
I have 15 weeks to train from bad fitness levels currently to an Olympic distance triathlon at end of September, I was thinking of doing the 8 week base phase, followed by either build phase or speciality phase? I don’t know which one to skip, any recommendations?

I would let TR create a custom plan for you! Simply enter your Olympic triathlon race as your A Event, and it will provide you with the optimal training phases to achieve peak performance.

8 wk base
6 wk build
5 days to a week taper would be my go to.

I would only go speciality if starting with good fitness and had longer to train.
