If I want to use the 20 minute testing protocol, should I replace every Ramp test(every 4 weeks) with the 20 min test or since the higher stress of the 20 minute test should I only do this at the begging of each new block? Thoughts?
How you choose to test doesn’t change how often you test. The ramp test text suggests tacking on a reduced-duration workout to increase the day’s workout load, so I don’t think the intention is to reduce your training load.
I just didn’t want to add more training load to a week that wasn’t intended to have that much.
If you switch to the 20 minute test switch them all. Testing every 4 (or 6 in base) weeks is done to keep the zones correct.
