Okay, I am tired of eating kilos of white rice or filling the lack of carbs with sugary sweets and got myself a waffle maker, wonder if anytone knows and tried a good carb rich moderatly healthy waffle recepies, maybe batate waffles?
I like the taste of buckwheat so I split the flour and buckwheat 50/50. Same with pancakes
Flour, milk, egg, sugar, butter.
More carbs, more sugar?
Use more maple syrup?
I don’t think I’ve ever looked but aren’t waffles pretty carb heavy already? Maybe add some of those sugar clumps like the Belgians do. And go ham with syrup.
Not a recipe, but I generally keep a box of this mix on hand:
- Make waffles
- Douse in maple syrup
Use edible glue to bond 100 sugar cubes together.
Edible paint a browned surface with a waffle pattern on it.
banana waffles.
1 cup cubed bread, lightly packed
1/2 cup white rice flour
1/4 ground almonds
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 almond milk
1 banana
Using oat milk can be a good way to get extra carbs.
Most of the carbs are in the syrup. Roughly 15g per tbsp.
I add a mashed banana to any boxed mix and then just modify the liquid/solid ratio to get a consistency i’m happy with. Can also put sliced apple on top of pancake and cover in syrup, tastes great and gives some texture difference to the otherwise fluffy/soggy waffle/pancake.
