Your favorite snacks

There is a long list of snack which I like. But I love mostly popcorn Cheese , raw fruits and veggies.

@dprimm have you tried baked vegetables? Those are good for a snack.
if you don’t want to eat a lot of carbs you can try keto coconut cookies or something like this.

I like to cook and bake a lot, recently made some cashew/date balls loosely based on this recipe:

Really tasty (kind of like a Christmas cookie) and good for a quick afternoon snack at work.

I keep beef jerky around in the desk and eat it in moderation for the protein usually stick with Jack Link’s Brand. Bannanas and Smucker’s Uncrustables Peanut Butter Fronzer sandwiches I had today also for protein. Smuckers moderation as well because of the sugar usually eat them every couple weeks but they are good and I always want them lol.

If someone wants to eat rich in nutrients and low in carbs snack I think it is good to eat something with seeds or nuts. There is so many nutrients that are good to kill hunger.
Have you guys tried poppy cake? It is my perfect discover right when I decided to stop eating wheat flour. There is more poppy than anything else

Anchovies ! With a bit of bread and small hunk of cheese. I’ll do a plate of olives sometimes.

I second the veggies with hummus.

If you need to submit to drug tests for your employment I’d be wary of consuming too many poppy seeds.

Oh!

Not so much a snack as a super quick meal: pour enough marinara sauce or crushed tomatoes in a small (6-9") nonstick ovensafe pan. Crack a couple eggs in there, crumble a bit of goat cheese. I’ll throw that in the oven for 15 minutes in the morning while I shower after a workout. Goes great with crusty bread, or on top of some polenta. A drizzle of great olive oil at the end really makes it.

I prefer healthy snacks like protein bars or anything like that.

This happened to me. Tested positive but when they sent it to the lab it was such a trace amount they waived it as a bad test.

Always thought this was just a seinfeld episode thing but it actually happened to me. Luckily my employer trusted me and sent it to the lab.

What a healthy and clean-living forum this is, I feel thoroughly ashamed of myself :joy:

If I need a mid-afternoon snack, it’s something sinful, a coffee and a chocolate bar/muffin/cookies.

Everything in moderation.

fwiw, and it looks a bit flawed* on my initial look, survey from Safe Food Ireland essentially calling out protein bars as unhealthy.

*flawed on what bars (and yogurts/ drinks) they picked - what I deem ā€œproperā€ protein bars, and the likes of nature valley/ trek, which I’d consider more carb bars than protein. I wouldn’t suggest bars are ā€œhealthyā€ as such, but it isn’t enough to convince me that they are not ā€œless badā€ than a chocolate bar.

Oh nooo! My brother does the same!
I have once a year one full day that I eat chocolates and cookies and after this I am full for next year

Vanilla rice pudding with some cinnamon. Delicious.

been crushing RX bars lately.

One slice of Ezekiel wheat bread toasted, spread with a thick layer PB&J. This helps get me through the afternoon.

It’s probably not the healthiest, but it gets me through my sweet-tooth cravings without too much damage I think. I’m sure a different nut butter would be better, but I love peanut butter.

I’m trying to eat apples more often and more veggies (green beans, snap peas) are on the horizon. I also really like some of the ideas on here and am looking forward to trying them out.
