I’m one of the 8000 users that see the posts in my feed but never go to the group and root around because I find it so hard to find anything in FB posts.
I would seriously consider the software that runs this forum. I see others using it as well (Fastcat for example). It is the best forum software I’ve used. You might find yourself with more users and many more active and loyal users.
I know this stuff is a lot of work and nothing happens over night!
Thanks again for all the educational videos. I’ve learned a ton!
Well, that I can help. I can get a page built on the WKO5 website that will link all past and upcoming events and share here. Maybe can group / reference list some stuff. I will have something together by EOD Monday.
What you are describing is no different than any other product when change occurs. People are terrified of change so they are happy to maintain status quo. I’m sure you see this yourself with your products, and based on the WKO threads when WKO5 came out there was a vocal group of WKO4 complaining about needless change.
That shouldn’t get in the way of creating a better product. And I would argue that given the rich conversation that occurs, moving your product onto a better platform will be overall accretive to your business.
I’m also use the Facebook group, but its hard to find some information. I prefer also a forum for WKO5 like Trainerroad or Intervals.icu. You can better find information and group together. The excuse that people dont want to change is a bad one for product development. When you change, always people terrified of change, but after a period they will go with you and see the benefits.
All of this. Would like email or some other notification that these are happening outside the FB group if possible (WKO/TP has my email!), and man… it needs to be opened up to people who aren’t sitting at home at 9AM (or 6AM in my case) on a work day. I would wager that some majority of WKO license holders are not full-time coaches.
This specific webinar would be of tremendous interest to me, and while I respect WKO’s desire to keep things behind the paywall, I hope that there’s a plan to let license holders who can’t schedule their lives around webinars have access this weekend…
@TimWKO to address @kurt.braeckel and others concerns is there a plan to post these webinars AFTER they are done to the youtube channel so that we can watch? I too struggle with the timing of these for live participation, but absolutely understand 1) you are EST based so you don’t want to be hosting a webinar at odd hours of YOUR day, and 2) this is a global platform so you can’t please everyone.
Didn’t they announce future webinars will be closed to only those who have WKO5? There was no note that it would be posted afterwards on YouTube but to be curated themselves. Or, have that been rescinded?
Most new WKO5 webinars are available for WKO5 (and 4 actually) license holders only. For WKO there is no subscription fee or costs for education, it is included as part of your purchase. These webinars are made available in recorded fashion to WKO license holder through the registration process. I do add a public webinar about once a quarter.
All public webinar are available on the TrainingPeaks YouTube Channel here. There are multiple “playlists” in multiple languages. I need to push one or two more up there but there are a lot on there now https://www.youtube.com/c/trainingpeaks/playlists. My quick count has over 40 full length webinars.
There is also a large list of webinars in the WKO5.com education center. Go here and click the webinar tab https://www.wko5.com/wko-education and you will see a pretty good list. There is some overlap with the playlists above. The last two or three are here as have not been loaded to the TP YouTube site yet.
On the WKO5 site you can download a free ebook by submitting your email here Free eBook: Advanced Training with Power We use that email list to inform people of upcoming programs via email.
There are numerous articles and info on WKO in the TrainingPeaks blog here Athlete Archives | TrainingPeaks Just search for WKO5 to find.
There are both free and paid for courses in the TrainingPeaks University site here TrainingPeaks University The free course is a pretty good intro.
And as you know, we do maintain a Facebook Group.
Overall, I have to be honest, that is a lot of work producing and managing all that content in a lot of different place in an effort to meet each users needs for access. Adding more formats might be helpful but not sure that would make everyone happy ( I know I said we would launch other a new, I just could not pull it off). I hope those resources help. I will add a page to the WKO5 site with upcoming webinar schedules and link you here once up to help schedule.
https://www.wko5.com/wko-educational-webinars We added the recent two webinars here and will post new schedule on top this page (none currently schedule but we will post new ones on Wednesday), hope that helps.
@TimWKO thank you! Was able to drop in on today’s webinar and unfortunately a couple of calls came in… however the parts I did hear/see were excellent as always Really appreciate the educational content you put out there, and the aerobic-vs-anaerobic trend chart was interesting as my coach has made similar comments within the context of individual workouts. The webinars always deliver thought provoking content along with inspiration for customizing my WKO5 dashboards!
Thanks, we will schedule part three of the recent series and one more future one on Wednesday, will link page again when you do so this group can track.
@TimWKO In the Sweetspot topic there is a discussion going about FTP changes from Zwift races. After 3 weeks of Zwift racing, my FTP is increased to 292w. But now some people tell me in that topic that FTP from a race dont give you a good FTP. My pd curve is well fit with short/medium an long efforts. I started with a test week and now i fit the curve with unstructured testing.
In week 5 I moved up to 286w after a race, but i dont go all out in that race. Only the first 20min with 296w avg for 20min, but this was not sustainable with VI 1.012.
Week 6 it moves to 288w in a race. (31min 290w). This was a sustainable effort about VI 1.002.
*week 7 it moves to 292w in a race. 297w for 27minutes. * I rode with 10% trainer difficulty, but inside the first 27min there are some hard efforts in, but the VI is 1.003 so i think sustainable.
I think there are more people with higher FTP after racing…how do they handle this, because i cant change the mFTP. The ilevel zones is based on mFTP, so i like it is correct.
When i do a FTP test and the outcome is for example 290w FTP, the mFTP wont change, because of the file from races…
You might have better luck posting that question in WKO Power User Facebook group. sFTP is set FTP which is user defined and iLevels are based on mFTP or modeled FTP. Is that a typo?

I did the Zwift race with the same powermeter als i ride my other rides (indoor/outdoor) so all the files in WKO5 is from the same powersource. The accuracy of my measuring tool doesnt metter, because i always measure with the same tool.
Is there any easy way to “duplicate” / replicate a Strava segment as a WKO5 segment?
I don’t have a facebook account, and I’m not going to get one. How much does this negatively impact the use of WKO5? E.g., not being able to get crowd build charts
If you are part of the facebook WKO5 group, is there any talk of WKO6? I’m asking because of the release notes question above
