Free too. You can do a lot with just your power curve.
Came back from a ride tonight and happy to see 2 new (beta) features for Premium users. The first is weather for the next 7 days, here is the forecast for my ride tomorrow:
web only right now, its in beta. Think I’ll continue riding in the afternoon!
And the other is ranking against other TrainingPeaks users, only in TP mobile:
thats against my 5 year age bracket, and my “un-optimized” weight LOL. I need to move and find some masters 60+ races because the guys my age racing around here have been riding forever. Its like going for a ride and getting a Strava KOM you didn’t know about, and then looking and you are #1 out of 112 I need to race in an area like that
TP sent me 2 or 3 surveys earlier this year and I basically said “your UX is old and stale, like the dawn of the Internet in 1995, not as bad as SAP but you seriously need to make it like Intervals” (not kidding).
The weather one has been around, at least for coaches, for a few weeks now. And yeah, I like it a lot. My riders in Munich and Belgium, I can program for them inside rides based on what I see (or longer outside stuff if the weather looks good). It’s a great addition.
StackUp is kinda meh, but people love that kind of thing. Looking at my numbers, (Ralph Wiggum voice): I’m a SPRINTER. 90% 5s, 94% 1min. The 1min isn’t surprising, I win with long bombs. Next field sprint I ever win will be my first.
The Stack Up feature is kinda buggy, not finding actual peak efforts in my case. They weren’t lying about the Beta part.
Hopefully they will further copy intervals and add absolute power as an option, in addition to watts/kg.
Just a different way of saying he rode easy! My go to is variations of “ez spin” or “spinning” but I’ve seen some write “zone2 ride” or if you want some geek cred I’ve seen a few “lt1 ride” on Strava.
It’s supposed to be a peak effort for the selected time period, so many of my peak efforts came in 2020 and 2021, as my 2022 training was derailed a couple times and my season ended in injury. So the default is this calendar year, but you can toggle it for All-Time or any year.
