I’m not racing, but I belong to the local chain-gang, and my goal is to keep up at the pointy end. Where I live is relatively flat w/ a few punchy climbs along the route. Depending on the day the route is between 50-60 miles with 4-5 3-6 min “climbs”. The ride is pretty much race pace; hammer on the flats, attack the climbs, close gaps, etc.
Obviously, I should be working on sustained power and Vo2, but which plan General Build? Or Crit MTB? The ride does include a fair amt of surging. And I also MTB, but mainly as pleasure, so I am not so concerned w/ that.
