Stage 3. I am so physically broken right now.
Tallac +3 with Ryan in the US:
Sweet spot is always harder than I think it’s going to be. Thanks to Ryan for the morale boost, and now I need a nap.
Two hours in the dirt on the new single speed mtn bike.
This SS stuff is freaking hard. Muy bueno but hard.
Chilly to start out. Under 40 deg F. Garmin was in the pack so it was nice and warm.
Another TR outdoor work. Felt good and was happy with the HR. Could have pushed harder and ended slightly higher in NP and TSS but overall very happy.
Last screen shot was during the ride.
my new main screen while recording:
grey = active recovery / zone1
blue = aerobic endurance / zone2
green = tempo / zone3
…
played around yesterday while doing the long ride.
Nice. I really like the target power field which is in the indoor trainer section.
Nice. Did you do a custom workout via group workouts? If so, I hadn’t caught up on that being possible
Town Hill
Good to get a long one in. Was grand up to the last half hour. Started to get a bit uncomfortable after that, legs tired from my long run yesterday. Abandoned the HRM, was acting up.
Wright Peak -2 for me today. Legs were still cooked from yesterday’s outside threshold intervals, so it took over an hour to start to feel comfortable. Ready for rest day tomorrow.
A (very similar power level) Wright Peak -1 for me as well today. Grateful to have reached the end of SSBMV2 with a rest week ahead for me! Definitely carrying some fatigue at the moment from the last two weeks!
Fletcher. So bored.
I realised after just over an hour I why I was feeling hot - I’d forgotten to open the window.
Williamson +4
This is one ugly mother f#€¥ing dog! Legs hurt still from Saturday ride outside.
@chad this one does not have in workout text😞
After enforced rest following a scare on my left knee (twinge after external rotation, following by instability for a couple of days), i resumed training today.
It does mean that I missed out on a nice SS ride on Friday (Kaweah) and that I had to go back straight into it , in te wonderful world of VO2 max pain that is Basfhul+2:
During the warmup, I realised my trainer wasn’t going to play ball on ERG, hence, I switched to resistance mode for the first time for a whole workout.
Quite interesting experience really. Much more involved from a brain perspective, forces one to really be on top of things, and provides a nice distraction from the pain in one’s legs.
Also, allows to tune things better, I even managed to overshoot a bit in the last set.
Onwards and upwards, pretty tough week ahead before a deserved rest week.
To make a custom workout work with the group ride feature, I ran group ride on my laptop with bluetooth disabled and the custom workout off my phone. We synched up on the start; it worked ok.
Trainerroad created two workouts for me, so I had to go to strava before the end of the session and delete the dummy one.
You got most of the way through a hard workout. Everybody has off-days. Just take your internet points ok
What is your SS setup? I’ve primarily ridden single speed mtb since 2007 or so but recently back on gears & full suspension-my preference for SS is rigid but it just beats me up way too much as I get into my late 40’s. My latest single is a Trek Farley with a Rockshox RS1 & running 29x3 tires. Super fun! I’ve currently got an itch for a Chumba Sendero but that’s not happening anytime soon.
