What workout did you do today? (2020, part 1)

No extend warmup is likely intentional. No adjust intensity in the cooldown exists on PC also and annoys the crap out of me!

Also…good going!

Enjoyed this one, when I’d finished.
I liked being able to compare it to an outdoor ride with climbs and descents. Never done that before.
Onwards.

You are flying since changing the trainer - congrats!

Those are both sweet spot workouts (88-94%), and you bumped them up to slightly-under-threshold/slightly-higher-sweet-spot (92-98%) workouts. The fact that you had the energy to do Tunnabora at all right after a ramp is impressive on its own, and could suggest that either you’re a beast or you didn’t quite hit max effort during the test, but successfully turning sweet spot intervals under 20 minutes into just-under-threshold intervals doesn’t say much about your FTP accuracy.

That said, FTP tests are miserable, so finding the test that creates the least misery and still ballparks a workable FTP for you is a win. If that’s not the ramp, maybe try another protocol?

thanks man! Out here trying!

It is fascinating like your single ride is whole week of my training in terms of kJ. Amazing engine you have…

Bird-1 this morning.
Set at 325w. Did 325-335w for 14 then 360w for the last.

Can’t help but think it is a needless Egotistical show of strength for the last one but it makes me feel good.
Is there any benefit to going hard for the last one or does it just make recovery harder?

I hope you’re right. Mary Austin -1 was tough last week. I’ll see how Leconte compares soon enough.

I second that. I thought Leconte was more manageable than Lamarck when I did them both a few weeks ago. Steady threshold works absolutely kills me, and the spikes in Leconte make it “easier” to get through.

Cheers Mate! Might do it again or something similar this weekend if work allows :facepunch:

Wow.

I can do 8 x 8 meters at 400w. Will post that workout later today.

Also, saw Memphis and decided to listen to John Hiatt songs this morning so extra bonus.

I see it as more of a real world scenario, like every bunch ride and race ends with a sprint

Good Ole’ Pettit, fasted. following up a high TSS week and even with an extra day off the bike this week I felt like I was still carrying fatigue. I did two outdoor rides yesterday - little to no structure but I did try to spend some time at threshold yesterday evening. legs feel thrashed like they haven’t in a very long time. More moving things around and I think I’ll just plug in some more recovery time and rides in until I’m feeling fresh again.

Recovery ride after yesterday’s FTP test. I have included 5 min power and 15s power as WKO asked for them. That upped my mFTP to 290W but I will stick with couple watts lower value for safety:)

Or maybe the rest weren’t hard enough I think you could up it a bit
