6 hours of conference calls in a row meant a 5.5 hour trainer ride. Got hooked on these in Nice a few weeks back so figured I’d pretend I’m still there.
Here’s a published list of the ‘best to worst 25 beers in the world’. I only drink a couple of them, so I’m good… And I really liked Tecate Light while broiling on a beach in the Yucatan. I think it’s somewhat location, rather than just outright hating/disliking something
. And some I’ve never heard of.

I think that list belongs on the jokes thread. How anything “light” or “ice” can be considered best is beyond me.
Boulevard Tank 7! Also just read the “stopped drinking” thread ![]()
I forgot to take a photo but The Crown in Elton had this on tap today so I had to try it.

I kinda drillled it on the 10miles or so home and ended up dropping my mate!
That sounds awesome….how was it?
A quite nice ale, a touch of bitterness but not too much, maybe could have done with being a bit fruitier though to balance it out.
Athletic Brewing Co. Free Wave - Hazy IPA…
Poured into a Pure Leaf No Sugar tea bottle. ![]()
Been awhile since I posted….but I have had many, many good beers since my last post. ![]()
Big Boy Beer Night tonight….Summer Krampus from Old Irving Brewery. Bourbon Barrel beers are a HUGE thing around Chicago in the winter and I am trying to gear up for it. Bought this 2 years ago and this was the last one.
A really, really good beer….lots of cocoa up front with a hint of coffee. Just enough heat from the barrel. But it is 12% ABV….no one needs 16oz of a beer like this! ![]()
I got the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout set this year….not cheap, but wanted to experience what all the fuss was about. I pick up the set next Friday.
Hang on now… 2 years and it didn’t go bad? Consider me impressed
Bourbon barrel aged stouts can last a long time….especially if they are bottled. I know people that have some that are 7-10 years old and they are still good if properly stored.
I avoid Founders at all costs. Successfully sued for racist hiring practices a few years ago.
Horrible company.
Picked up my Bourbon County Stout assortment from Goose Island this morning.
The line-up
Currently have the Original Stout with my daughter….”only” 14.7% for this one!
A very good stout…not overly complex, nice blend of cocoa, coffee with the barrel flavor upfront and just a bit of heat from the ABV to finish.
That is a Top 3 Christmas beer for me, along with Revolution Fistmas and Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
