Try their Double Two Hearted. GOOD STUFF! Highly recommended.

Now that Bell’s sold out, they might get more widely distributed. I have a few friends that went west, and complained that they have a hard time getting Bell’s in Cali so maybe it’s changing for the better. We’ve had a hard time getting their Hop Slam a month after it was released, and yet it’s still available in large quantities so if you can find that, grab it…

They have some most excellent brews. They deserve a wider audience. Cheers!

Stereo equipment: I have a Nikko NA-590 amp that is rated for 35 watts, yet pushes near 90 before any distortion. Has big caps and a huge transformer. They don’t make things like they did back then. But it’s only 2-channel so wouldn’t sell in today’s 20+5 channel market.

So somehow I just accidentally deleted that post. Arg!

Got it back by editing it. Weird…

Delirium Noel. Tasty, but milder than its cousin ‘Delirium Tremens’.

Side story: Went to a wedding reception at a hotel that was offering DT’s at another wedding reception in the next room where a local rock band was playing. (Bad mistake) I was offered a DT, and told to ‘treat it with respect’. To me, respect for a beverage means drinking it quickly, and savoring it. Not a good idea with a DT. I ended up having 2 and part of a third, and good thing I was staying there overnight. Breakfast was late the next morning being that it was a weekend. Great idea! After begging for a late checkout, I stumbled down and saw some of the party with bloodshot eyes trying to look alive. Powerful stuff, made more powerful by waiting for the reception dinner. We all raided the next room and rocked until we couldn’t stand up. I actually left early. Some closed that place, and management complained that our group drank them nearly dry. I remember a collection being taken for that other reception, and rumor has it that nearly 6 grand was collected after nearly everyone was drunk. The surplus went to the other happy couple and offended the one we were there for. Oh well. They should have had a live band?

Delirium Tremens and a funny wedding story…

Delirium Noël

Figured I’d contribute to the Bells party.

I’m a fan as well, especially this time of year.

2 favorite recent purchases were:

Stone Imperial Russian Stout (fan favorite re-release)

Brewery X - Bark Griswold

Saw this the other day and was tempted to pick up a 6’r but passed due to its relatively low ABV for a Stout.

As far as Belgians go, I’ve had most of the aforementioned and imo, none top Allagash Curieux

Only a 35 mile ride for me to Southwold! Nice brewery, but also great selection of wines and spirits

Shiner Bock just released a Trail Ale. Nutty, chocolatey, and reaaaaallllyyyy tasty.

also I know it’s not a beer, but its bubbly and alcoholic. Hear me out. Red wine + cola. I first tried it in Spain a few years back! It’s like a cherry coke, but a bit more complex. Also really enjoying that lately too.

Hmmm…I can see how the flavors could compliment each other….but I’m skeptical.

What is the ratio…50/50?

Beach Dibs Pale Ale from Old Irving Brewery…and another new pint glass from Santa.

For those not familiar with Chicago in the winter, if you dig your car out from a parking spot after the snow plow comes through, people will leave lawn furniture in the spot to call “dibs” and so it is there when they return. It is a fun and quirky Chicago tradition that people really respect….so if you look at the label, the beach furniture is actually on the side of the road with snow in the background.

Depends on the red wine. (and the person! My wife says its “weird but doesn’t dislike it”, one of my work buddies loves it). I don’t know the exact ratio because I just kind of put a little bit at a time until it’s just right. Drier and fruitier red wines typically like 40/60 or maybe a little less. The more full bodied or savory wines like a cabernet or zin, I like it even flipped to like 70 wine 30 cola.

Did 4+ hours riding outside and then headed to Wed Worlds “no ride tonight, come to Dust Bowl Brewery instead” party.

Started with this:

they only allow 1 per visit. I’m guessing thats because of lawyers and ABV.

Was quite good, not as good as the Chimay Grand Reserve, but definitely hit the spot.

then had the Pale Ale version of this:

Another good one. Or two

Finished a 2.5+ hour ride to finally reach my 400 hour stretch goal for 2022, so after washing the road grit out of * everything * and tossing the wearables in the washing machine I broke out St Bernardus and (hopefully) redeemed myself on the pour technique even though my hands were still frozen
