I always look out for Other Half beers here in the UK. We sometimes get a collab.
That looks pretty outstanding
went to Panera Bread to get a bread bowl of soup. They’re out of bread bowls. You’re a bread company. How are you out of bread bowls?? Make more. Get pissed, leave, drive down the street to Whole Foods. Get an oatmeal chocolate chip Pro Bar and a 6 pack of “Firestone Walker Mocha Dolce Nitro Stout”. Drank one, don’t like it. Anybody want the other 5? Now I have to figure out a different way to carbo load for Disaster tomorrow. Oh, Merry Christmas everybody ![]()
That plus some Live Oak Hefeweizen!
That seems to happen often with them….we encounter it regularly. ![]()
But I can top that…back in the early days of our marriage, Mrs. P13 and I would hit Boston Chicken somewhat regularly (before they became Boston Market). We drove through one night and placed an order and they said they were out of chicken. Uhhh…it was literally all they did (back then). ![]()
ETA - sorry, wasn’t trying to “one up” you, just reminded me of that story. ![]()
“I’d like a cheese burger please”. “Sorry, we’re out of hamburgers”. “Ummm…this IS McDonald’s, yes??”
Wow, love that, but it seems like it’ll put hair on places that don’t have hair. And it’s kinda pricey. (I mean, worth it but pricey.
Currently enjoying a ///Fear.Movie.Lions from Stone. Yum. My go to Saturday night imbibe.
this is approved.
My sister-in-law that graduated from Chico State in the 80s and is a die hard Sierra Nevada drinker… she was drinking champagne all evening and asked for a beer. So I poured her a Bells. And she asked for another and another. Truly great beer for those of us on the west coast that had no idea.
Shout out for the Technics receiver. Old school.
I am among my people.
Trappiste Rochefort No. 6.
Belgian and exquisitely good . . . like the bike rides and races that tell the most.
Find it. You will not be sorry,.
I bought that Technics receiver in 1986 on employee discount when I worked for Matsushita / Panasonic America! Had to replace a transformer in 1989 after a storm fried everything in the house, and it’s been 100% since then.
1984 called and wants its stereo equipment back.
(Ha - just scrolled down and saw 1986 - that’s funny)
Try their Double Two Hearted. GOOD STUFF! Highly recommended.
Now that Bell’s sold out, they might get more widely distributed. I have a few friends that went west, and complained that they have a hard time getting Bell’s in Cali so maybe it’s changing for the better. We’ve had a hard time getting their Hop Slam a month after it was released, and yet it’s still available in large quantities so if you can find that, grab it…
They have some most excellent brews. They deserve a wider audience. Cheers!
Stereo equipment: I have a Nikko NA-590 amp that is rated for 35 watts, yet pushes near 90 before any distortion. Has big caps and a huge transformer. They don’t make things like they did back then. But it’s only 2-channel so wouldn’t sell in today’s 20+5 channel market. ![]()
