I’ve booked in for this event on August 18th. It’s 100km 3,200M and essentially consists of twenty two 5-10 min steep climbs one after another. Not racing it but would like to put in a decent shift.
I’ve about to wrap on five months of LV ‘Climbing Road Race’ which will leave me 10 x weeks to prep for this event.
Climbing road race perhaps makes most sense again but should I skip base go straight to build / speciality?
When you added this event to your calendar, it should have given you the option to extend your plan to account for it, which is usually the best move.
I’d personally trust whatever TR recommends in terms of scheduling between now and then. You’re jumping out of a really long stretch of Build and Specialty phases, capped by a big event next week. It’s unlikely that continuing on with 10 more weeks of Build and Specialty is the best way forward, as you may be a bit cooked by the time BoC comes around.
I’d build out a plan and see what we give you!
This worked perfectly thanks. And yes just has me skipping straight to Build then Speciality including a level 10.0 VO2 workout. I’m sure adaptive training will iron that out at some point.

Did you simply re-add the event and allow TR to extend your plan, or did you add in a secondary plan after this current one finishes?
I just re-added the event. Did not build a new plan.

It looks like you’ve got things in a good place!
A rest week after your race, three weeks of Build, three weeks of specialty, and a taper seems like a good option.
Best of luck with your training and both of your events!
