First workout (Ramp Test) with the new app today. Initially tried using my Galaxy Tab 7 but couldn’t get P1 pedals and HRM to both pair over ANT+ (willing to accept this could have been user error as it is the first time trying a workout using that device and rushed to install the various ANT+ plug inside to support my dongle.
Moved to my phone (Galaxy S10, Android v11) and had the number scaling issue mentioned repeatedly above (bottom half of the numbers cut off) whilst in landscape, unfortunately didn’t manage to get a screenshot while suffering. Other than that all seemed to work well and I’m a big fan of the new app in general.
Please let me know if you need any more data on versions etc.
Edit: immediately after posting this I tried to upload the Ramp Teat to IG using the built-in functionality and the App crashed to a black screen and became unresponsive.
On calendar view this is what I see when a new workout or activity is completed. I think it’s when they are activities that aren’t scheduled but not 100% sure.
This screenshot is a Zwift workout I did yesterday. It still shows this. Note that this has also happened with TR workouts but they’ve usually appeared as normal after a few refreshes.
I have been running TR on a 2013 Asus Nexus 7, android 6.1, the tablet is just for TR.
I cannot remember if I was using the Beta version on it or not, I did have the beta on my phone.
Anyway, when I got that email about Android version compatibility, I figured I needed to look at my options. I don’t want to use my phone and would prefer not to buy a new tablet just for TR.
I rooted the Asus and installed the Android 10 version of Lineage OS (17.1).
Currently the latest beta version is running without issue. Loading time between screens seems marginally slower than on my S10.
Unless something changes in further versions the old tablet will be good enough for me.
Hi @airteluser , not sure if that was directed to me but, I looked at that and there are APKs out there but wouldn’t be happy as too much messing and not sure of what or where its coming from. I installed the most minimal version of Gapps which gives play store services so updates etc operate as usual.
Hi, thx - no, was not directed at you, just a general question .
I have already installed TR via APK and worked fine. Just looking for the Beta as APK now. Maybe it does not exist, thx!
I’m just getting around to posting this display bug from back on March 6th. App in portrait mode also has text clipping on the total time field when the duration crosses 2 hours in Ochoco. It clips off the rightmost number when certain combinations of numbers are displayed that happen to be wider. So lots of 1’s in the time is fine but when you have 2’s 5’s or several other wider numbers after the 2: it clips. I did not record the app version I had on that day unfortunately. Maybe it is listed in the uploaded workout if you need to check the specific version.
I’ve recently downloaded the beta app again after having quite a few issues with my previous phone (Pixel 1 → Pixel 4a). After a couple rides, I’m seeing only a couple of smaller issues bubble up.
as seen in screenshot is the UI doesn’t scale properly when using the application in landscape(unless I open the map while holding it sideways)
had a HR freeze yesterday, kept on 77 BPM for the whole 90 minutes:
I guess ANT+ was stuck, because removing and reconnecting to my ANT+ garmin strap did not work.
Maybe this was caused by having the app open for a few days… for most workouts I block the app from being closed accidentilly (samsung feature…??) but maybe it was too long open (since the previous workout…)
Been using it for about 2 weeks now, doing 3 rides a week. No problem whatsoever (other than my powermeter being finnicky but that’s been that way before the Beta)
Hi, I tried to do the ramp test using the beta version of the app but there was no ‘load workout’ button available to me on my Android tablet (Lenovo). I had to switch to using the beta app on my Android phone which did allow me to load the workout. This appears to only be an issue with my Lenovo tablet as I have been able to load other workouts with the tablet.
Another bug I have observed is the timing of changes in resistance in ERG mode - the resistance increases about 3 seconds before the interval starts and equally drops about 3s before the interval ends. This is a bit off-putting!
Just experienced the same issue. Normally I’d have found this much quicker because I don’t have an Internet connection where I train (on a ship) but have been home for a while.
Having trouble getting cadence displayed from the Kickr Core. When I click on the trainer from the device settings, it only shows power, speed, and signal. Am I missing a basic setting somewhere? Thanks! Really like the beta so far!
I experienced the same problem yesterday with unstable power in erg mode,I had to stop during the first interval and restarted everything but it was still the same, power would go up and down while in Erg mode. I am not on Android Beta, this happened on my PC which I have been using for more than a year and it has never done this before.
