I am just finishing up my High Volume - Half-Distance Triathlon (Ironman 70.3) Build Phase Training Plan. I am looking to pull in the Specialty phase training plan, but my race is in about 5 1/2 weeks, so I can’t do the full 8 week plan.
My thought is to just remove weeks 1-3 and start on week 4 of the Specialty Phase Plan. Based on looking at the plan itself the intensity isn’t that much different to what I’ve done in the build phase.
Any recommendations on how to adjust one of these plans without following the full 8 week guidance?
