lovely thanks dude
Getting into Python, previous roles was lots of SQL so I’ve just managed to get Python to build and show a couple of graphs of FTP, bodyweight and W/kg as I’ve recorded them.
Very basic but having a project that looks at subjects I’m interested in can’t hurt.
I can share the repo if people want to offer up constructive critique as I’d like any advice to improve/simplify the code.
I am an azure architect in the pharma space, pretty much bored with the role so have been looking at data engineering (there is a new team being started up for data within my company which could possibly have a opening although suspect I’ll be too far off the pace).
learning python at the moment via dataquest but will start to build a project soon. Was thinking along the same link as visualising some form of data to do with cycling and seeing what i can make of it.
Managed to get a grip with matplotlib talking to a SQL database and made some graphs. Then added to the most 90s single webpage going.
Good starting point using some stuff I’ve been studying.
Anyone have any thoughts on how you might design user-defined zones? Thanks!
What do you mean by that ?
@firemunki did you try using streamlit or dash ? I’ve recently started using them and they are fantastic for everything data / charting
I’ve not tried them, I’m currently trying (and failing) to learn PySimpleGUI to make a graphical version of entering my FTP and weight.
After a quick look at your repo, you should definitely explore Streamlit and Dash - both are very easy to use with plotly charts (which are way nicer than matlplotlib, with interactivity by default etc).
Streamlit is easier to start with, while Dash is more mature.
A little project to change the origin of a loop track (e.g. a Garmin Connect course):
That’s fantastic I’ll have to check it out, I’ve been hoping someone would make something like this and I’m surprised ridewithgps doesn’t have this as a feature
Intervals.icu can now be extended with JavaScript code …
That’s huge! Minor quick win @davidtinker: Please make the activities in the result list for “Calendar => Options => Search for activity” better links => on iPad I can just select and the results are then gone, but I want to long press open in new tab while keeping results open which is not possible.
I supposedly fixed that but just tried it on my iPhone and it didn’t work. Works fine with middle click etc. on desktop and on my iPad.
Whatever you did…now it works on my iPad. What a welcome surprise and nice fix. Thanks a lot, intervals keeps getting better and better!
Just got a notice from RideWithGPS that they added this (changing the start location of a route). Guess they were afraid of competition from small python scripts ![]()
Ha! Finally though!
Interesting repo here.
Garmin Connect doesn’t have the best dashboard, but someone has built a Grafana dashboard for long-term stats and a Docker container to run it.
Easy to build and looks good.
Wow that’s neat! I’ll have to dig into it when I’ve some free time.
At work, we decided to spin up Granafa for improved graphing. I wasn’t part of the deployment, sadly, so I thought I’d give it a go…. pretty easy to link to my database once I remembered my passwords!
I’ve not been capturing much data, and I’ve run out of ideas to capture, so it’s a bit limited but I reckon I might be able to pull from Strava or similar.
If anyone has an Echelon bike that was free to use with other apps until the company killed it there is hope
