Best way to add recovery to my plan

As the poster boy for disordered eating and training I have once again screwed myself over and ended up not eating enough for my sessions and become a couple points above anemic.

Since my test it’s been a couple of weeks easy weeks including my recovery week. I just fought hard through a 45 minutes mixed block which proved I could do with at least one more easy week.

There’s no way to swap a week to a recovery block would it be best to:

  • add Z2 session and delete the planned threshold
  • Block the week with annotations and use train now
  • Just train now and leave planned events
  • Give up cos I’m my own worst enemy

I’d be going for option A - you can also hit the edit pencil and change the zone to endurance to give you an AI endurance workout

Good luck both with recovering and finding a better balance on your return! Personally from similar experiences I’ve always found it best to not have any kind of training plan/schedule looming over me and just clear/ignore the calendar and take it day by day until the energy and motivation levels (and blood markers if you’re doing more tests) come back, and even then give it a couple more days to be sure. Not even sure I’d use Train now, I just jump on the bike and either do a Free Ride indoors or an easy spin outdoors, very much by RPE.

Slightly on a tangent - it would be a great feature to be able to add a recovery week to the calendar. As at the moment you can add time off but this just temporarily interrupts the plan and then it carries on either side. Would be good to be able to instead tell TR when your want a recovery week and then have it replan the training weeks around it.

Maybe switch approach to conservative and updating the plan could be an option too?

I have pulled it down to 3 days for now. Hopefully will feel better soon and learn my lesson (unlikely knowing me).
