Hey - that’s really annoying for you. I’m afraid that I’ve also established since then that the latest Wahoo Bolts/roam’s are not yet compatible either - no good for this season. I’ve had to borrow a Garmin and after spending a bit of time configuring, got it sorted but I prefer the Wahoo as found glancing at the massive field and following a route at the same time SO much easier to see. It’s a total shame and I’ve spent hours on this testing on the bike and have been down the road of dealing with both companies support and drawn a black with the Wahoo integration. Good luck - hope you did well at the Outlaw despite this!
Outlaw Half was good fun. My A event is Ironman Austria in 3 weeks. Still keen to get Target Power working on Bolt and (before seeing your latest message) I spontaneously ordered a Bolt v3. Will be pretty frustrated if that also doesn’t show Target Speed or Power!
Good luck in Austria - I’d love to know if you get the new Roam working with BBS. Have fun!
So - my Bolt 3 arrived. Spent hours setting it up as Wahoo have moved everything from the Wahoo Elemnt App to the Wahoo Fitness App. The UI looks nice, but none of my ride/run history was migrated. Anyway - the new platform is not yet integrated with BBS and is on their list for the future. I tried the Bolt 3 and wasn’t that impressed with the colour screen to justify a change from my old Bolt 1. Have now sent it back and will resort to using the Cheat Sheet on BBS to give my rough power based on gradient.
So sorry you had that hassle - thanks for posting back - good luck in Austria!
Just “talked” to BBS support:
We have seen an uptick in issues. The v3 units do not yet support BBS (working to get a timeline), the older units should all be functioning correctly, however, there may have been a wahoo update that broke functionaility. Please also write into to Wahoo (the more noise the faster they will get to a solution). We unfortunately do not control the integration on the computer so they will have to implement a fix. I’m testing on devices locally so if I come up with a work around we will post on the site.
I also filed a support request with Wahoo, but haven’t heard back yet.
Thank you for confirming with your follow up. This is an issue we are aware of and we have opened an internal ticket with our development team to investigate and resolve the problem.
Since I’m using a Bolt v1, I’m sure fixing this bug is at the top of that dev’s priority list, but there it is.
I’m currently waiting on @dcrainmaker to post his review / buying guide of head units for 2025 before replacing this unit. Ray, if stop in here, I’d be interested to know about pacing options in each head unit when you do that. For me and at least a few of my friends, the purpose of a power meter on a bike is just to keep ourselves from blowing up because we feel good early in the ride.
