Any metal heads here? 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘

Just listened to this and oh my days it’s good. I’m already looking forward to using it to get me through a hard interval. Cheers for the recommendation dude :metal:t2:

Into The Storm from Gojira’s latest album is a great one for longer VO2 max or threshold efforts.

I used to listen to Darkthrone, Morbid Angel, Dismember, Entombed etc

Every Time I Die are my go to band when I need that extra something to get me through. Other bands that I listen to on the trainer are Erra, LANDMVRKS, Polaris and if there’s a real storm up ahead Alpha Wolf have also never failed me.

Since I was 11 I have continually had people tell me that I will grow up and start liking real music one day and yet here I am, 34 years later and still not “grown up”!

I’ve got almost 20 years on you and I’m not “grown up” either. I like a lot of music, but I can’t do modern pop/hip hop/EDM at all.

I like a lot of old school metal and punk. Bad religion is my go to for workouts now

I’m not a metalhead as such, but I loved to listen to Pantera to train in a climbing wall. There’s something about the lyrics “a new level of confidence, and power” that does wonders to push yourself harder.

I used to leave “F***ing hostile” for the hardest bouldering problems… Good times!

Now I don’t climb any longer but perhaps I should return to Pantera for brutal displays of power aka Vo2Max intervals

The thing they didn’t realise was that, at 11 years old, you had already started with the real music :metal:
It’s those others who haven’t grown up yet!

I love songs like “Walk” that have that grind. Perfect for suffering. Gojira is a newer band that does this really well.

The spotify Djent playlist has been making the rounds for me recently. I guess the pure abrasiveness is just what I need at 5am, to get the groove going!

That’s an excellent album!

It counts!..…but “Burning Inside” and “Stigmata” from In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up (Live) packs a wallop! IMO

If ever I think I’m gonna struggle on an interval, then Strapping Young Lad is where it’s at for me. Apparently blast beats motivate me to pedal faster

Comeback Kid, Architects and Mastodon is a staple in interval work. Longer sweetspot work is fantastic to the sounds of Russian Circles

Russian Circles is my go-to for studying.

You might like this YouTube video. 15 metal songs I never get tired off hearing.
I suggested he put it onto a Spotify playlist

Amazing album. I’m a sucker for the mixture of prog and screams. A lot of people complained they sold out, but I love the new album Infinite Granite too.

Its got me looking up post rock and a lot of the more modern shoegaze stuff. Such a discovery. Feel like I finally found the guitar sound I’ve been looking for.

The recent album is great too. They’re so good.

Showing my age, I like a bit of old Skool. Rust in peace by Megadeth still one of my favourite metal albums. Killer combo of Mustaine, Menza and Friedman. I spent most of my school days learning that album on guitar :slightly_smiling_face:
