A lot of improvements have been made to TrainerRoad in 2016. Here’s a quick look at some of our most exciting updates and releases!

Product Updates

Triathlon Plans with Swim, Bike and Run Workouts

All of our triathlon plans have been redesigned from the ground up to include detailed swim, bike and run instructions from our Head Coach Chad Timmerman. Explore the new triathlon training plans.

Ability to Follow a Training Plan

It’s now easy to pick a training plan to follow on TrainerRoad. This new feature allows athletes to view their upcoming rides, visualize their training process, mark workouts as done outside and more. See the new Training Plans feature.

Newly Redesigned Windows and Mac Apps

Major updates have been made to our Windows and Mac apps this year. They are now faster, sleeker and full of features cyclists value most. Download the latest version of these apps.

TrainerRoad for Android™

The TrainerRoad Android app was released this year and, as of November, beta users have the ability to find and follow a training plan directly from their Android devices. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on most Android devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer. Download the TrainerRoad Android app.

Expanded Trainer Compatibility

TrainerRoad now supports more trainers than ever! Most recently this includes improved support for Computrainer, Tacx and CycleOps Bluetooth Smart trainers. To find out if your trainer is supported, visit the Equipment Checker.

Other Highlights from the Year

The TrainerRoad Podcast

Our podcast has become an integral resource for athletes in 2016. Each week, our certified coaches and CEO get together to answer training questions submitted by athletes and dish about their latest experiments and tips. As we enter into 2017, we’re proud to say the Ask a Cycling Coach podcast is approaching 1 million listens! Listen to the latest episode.

Milestone for Our Cycling Documentary

To share an inside look at what it takes to be the best, we filmed one of the fastest amateur cyclists in the country, Justin Rossi, for more than a year leading up the 2015 National TT Championships. Since we released our documentary at the start of 2016, it’s been viewed more than 250,000 times on YouTube! If you haven’t already, watch The Chase

Looking Forward to 2017

We have big plans to make TrainerRoad even better for you in 2017, and we can’t wait to share everything that’s in store. Until then, happy holidays and happy training, everyone!
