I don’t follow a plan and am just doing recommended workouts of the day, primarily on Zwift. However, I’ve noticed that most of the time the Zwift recommended workout of the day is different than the TR recommended workout of the day. Why is that?
If you’re not following a TR plan, my guess is that TR isn’t pushing any workouts to Zwift, and you’re just seeing a Zwift-recommended workout.
If you want to see a TR workout, I’m thinking you’ll need to open TR, select one of the ‘Train Now’ options presented, or a workout from the workout library, and add it to your calendar, and then wait a few moments for the ‘Z’ logo to appear beneath the workout in your Tar calendar, indicating it has been synced to Zwift.
Hey @Balcerski,
I believe that since TrainNow actually has several different workouts that it can recommend at any given moment, there could, in some cases, be a discrepancy between what you’re seeing there vs in Zwift.
Are they both at least recommending workouts in the same training zones (Threshold, VO2 Max, etc)?
No. Today, I was served an anaerobic workout on Zwift vs. TR recommending a hard start threshold workout.
I’ll have an engineer take a look..
I have the exact same problem: Recommended TR workout in Zwift and TR app is always out of sync.
Should properly mention I mainly do recommended TR workouts if I dont do a race or group ride in Zwift which is also my reason for not following a specific TR plan (just in case this could have something to do with it).
Anyway the result is: I stopped using the trainerroad app more or less completely.
I still like the TR suggestions in Zwift ofc since the TR workouts are great (even tho I am not sure they are the right ones for the day) - but would be nice to be able to see and change the recommended TR workouts in a similar way in Zwift as it’s possible in the TR app or at least provide a proper way to force a sync from the TR app to Zwift instantly so the app can be used to choose between alternate workouts.
At the moment I actually feel a bit like TR has become a quite expensive red/yellow day detection method to me.. lol
If you add the TR app recommended workout of the day to your TR calendar for the same day, it will automatically and almost instantaneously sync with Zwift and override whatever Zwift was recommending as the TR workout of the day. It’s quite handy as I found the TR app recommended workouts of the day better than the Zwift app TR recommended workouts of the day.
Never thought of that and just verified and can confirm to everyone it’s working.
Yay! I’m so happy now Thanks @Balcerski !
Workout syncing has stopped working for me since today… Am I the only one with this issue?
My workouts are not being pushed to Zwift today either. I tried reconnecting my Zwift account to TR, but it didn’t fix the issue.
It seems it’s ok now…
My workout today did not push to Zwift either. I also checked the workout tab in the app and the TR folder was not present anymore. Restarted the Zwift app a couple times, but no luck.
Did my workout the old fashion way with 2 devices so not a huge deal for me, but something seems to be up.
Hey all, we had a bug syncing some planned workouts to Zwift earlier today. We believe we’ve resolved the issue and we’re working to push over any workouts that didn’t sync on their own, but in the meantime, you can force your workout to sync manually if you don’t want to wait. Simply drag it to a different day on your calendar, wait a moment, then drag it back to today. You should see the Zwift “Z” icon appear on the activity quickly after that to confirm it was sent over.
Sorry for the trouble! We don’t expect any issues syncing over tomorrow’s workouts.
