Zwift Integration and Rearranging Workouts

I’m not sure I’ve seen this particular issue discussed previously, so if anyone know of an existing thread, please direct me that way.

Normally my TR workouts sync to Zwift each (scheduled) day, without issue, and the scheduled TR workout appears in the Next Up tile on the Zwift home screen. This week, however, I have not been feeling great. So, on Tuesday I swapped my regularly scheduled interval ride with the normal easy ride on Wednesday. In TR I saw the ‘Z’ under the easy workout for Tuesday, and no longer under the interval workout, now scheduled on Wednesday.

However, upon opening Zwift, the interval workout was still showing in the ‘Next Up’ tile. By navigating to the TR workout folder I was able to find, and complete, the easy workout.

Again yesterday (Wednesday) I still didn’t feel great, so I pushed the interval ride to Thursday, and pulled the Thursday solo ride to Wednesday, and then changed it to an indoor TR workout. And, again, I saw the little Z under the Wednesday ride, and no Z under the Thursday interval ride. And, also again, upon opening Zwift the interval ride was showing in the Next Up tile (and the correct workout was available by navigating to the TR workout folder).

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It’s not a huge deal, but it’s strange. I’m also not sure if it’s an issue on the TR side, or the Zwift side. :man_shrugging:

I wonder if we don’t re-push workouts after they’ve been synced to Zwift.

In your case, the workout had already been synced and your changes in TR didn’t affect what you saw in Zwift.

I just reached out about this and I’ll follow up when I hear back. :+1:

I would say that it didn’t affect what was available in Zwift, but it did affect what I saw in Zwift. I make this distinction because Zwift has a feature called ‘Next Up’ that, in this case, should show the next workout on my TR calendar. However, because of the switch, and whatever is happening in the background, I was not seeing my next workout on this tile.

This might be a Zwift issue, so I’ve posed this question to their support, also.

Keep in mind that we only sync workouts that are scheduled for today over to Zwift.

Just to clarify, when you moved your workouts around on your TR calendar, those changes weren’t transferring over to Zwift. Is that right?

Was Zwift open when you were making the changes in TR? Restarting Zwift might help things sync over..

Zwift was not open at the time I made the changes in my TR calendar.

The new workout was transferred to Zwift, but it was not selected as the default workout for the day.

Effectively, I had two workouts in Zwift, instead of just one. And the one for the current day was not the default. Both Tuesday and Wednesday the original workout for Tuesday (which had been moved to Wednesday, and now to Thursday) showed as the default.

Previously when I changed workouts, the original workout would disappear from Zwift, and be replaced by the new one.

@NigelTufnel11, have you heard anything back from Zwift?

@eddie i have not. What I did note, though, was that the workout that had been pushed to Zwift for yesterday was still showing as my ‘Next Up’, even after I had canceled it in the TR app due to being sick. So, it seems like once the workout is pushed to Zwift it doesn’t change, unless replacing it with another workout. That is, canceling it or swapping it after being pushed to Zwift doesn’t change the ‘Next Up’ tile messaging in Zwift.

Certainly not a big deal, just interesting.

If you make a change to the workout that’s scheduled for today in TR, it should be reflected in Zwift.

I’m on vacation this week, so I’ll have to circle back on this later. Thanks for the follow-up.
