I’m scared of heights too, so your picture gives me PLENTY of perspective

VO2 this morning in the form of Bluebell. I’ve done this session enough times to know how it should feel. After this morning, I’m only too grateful that next week is a recovery week.

From the third interval, this was far more taxing than it needed to be. I recovered pretty well between intervals but my HR was jacking up far too high for my liking after one minutes work.

Endurance and nothing more this weekend.

Smoother your cadence gets, the smoother that graph will be. But we do not generate smooth power. There are lots of little fluctuations in our power output. Being a left only PM, I guess it might also magnify any discrepancies in your application of power, especially at higher wattages or when fatigued.

Forgot to ask if that was ERG mode or what?

Holy Moly! Thats a lot of power…

Woke up with the dread. Started warmup not sure if I was going to change to an easy Z2. First felt difficult By the last felt like I could do a few more… So strange how that works…Either getting stronger or able to go harder inside… Outside on some hills these would feel like a piece of cake.

First one after a big ftp bump. I suffered accordingly. Onwards.

Vancouver -1. Up to 15 minutes on these intervals. Felt relatively easy today

2x3x400m running intervals. My nemesis. Glad this is over. Not an inkling of a doubt whether I was in VO2Max zone - breathing like a fish out of the water by the end of each interval. Not enough oxygen around, it seemed.

1h45min Z2 Endurace outside in the last week of Sustained Power Build. Pacing went much better than yesterday and finally I start to feel more rested and relaxed. Those last weeks were quite hard but fun! Looking forward to start my specialty plan next week.

Raymond +7. Rubbish nights sleep (rubbish weeks sleep actually), so a bit of a struggle but go through with no pauses (well except in a recovery valley when I knocked the phone off it’s magnet!) and no reduction of intensity.

Outside tomorrow, just riding, beyond 5km’s!

The last workouts of Climbing Road Race Speciality plan.

I should have done Kern-4 today but something didn’t feel right - the 115% effort at the start of the block felt really, really hard. Thought it was just me, I’d had a hard time on Basin -4 on Tuesday as well. Halfway through the next interval at 105%, which also felt hard, the reported power just dropped away even though my cadence remained the same. The battery was dying on my power meter! Gaahhh!!!

Did the next two intervals at 95% and 105% then binned it and went to look for a new battery.

Once I’d found a battery I decided to bring tomorrow’s workout forward rather than repeat Kern so did Truuli -2, even the 125% interval felt easy compared to what had been going on earlier.

Just glad it didn’t happen at minute 18 on the Ramp Test

Busy day with work meetings meant an early start… I’d been a bit nervous about how I’d do with Leconte. I’ve been feeling pretty tired all week. It was certainly not easy, but just kept focus on the next step in each interval. Definitely looking forward to the rest week that is up next.

Another day, another recovery ride… made a conscious effort to ride at 70rpm, made the hour go by faster, little opener at the end, legs feeling good on bike.

An old football injury, adductor tear, came back when getting off the bike. Suffered for five minutes but it faded away as fast as it appeared.

Nice one, that’s a tough workout, just by looking at the history of those who have attempted today and didn’t get through it…Log In to TrainerRoad ( All Rides at bottom)…out of last twenty I viewed, 12 didn’t get through without ā€œchangesā€ā€¦

Was worried about completing this as I have my FTP set 9 higher than my last ramp test, but I’m happy with the outcome.
I could have maybe gone with higher FTP but don’t think I would’ve finished final set
