A lot better than nothing, that’s for sure.
Charybdis +2. I knew after that first set there was no possible way I could repeat without failure. Had to drop by 10 watts.
I’ve never wanted a workout to end so badly in my life.
Edit: Interestingly, I just realized I’ve actually bumped the intensity on all of my VO2sday rides this training block…till now. I wonder if the load is just catching up with me.
I thought O/Us were hard (and they are) until I got into 120% repeats. Oooooooof
My man. I’ll take O/Us all day long over these extended 120% intervals. 3 minutes at 120 is brutal.
3mins@120 are my breaker workouts. If I get EVERYTHING in my life right for the 2 days before, I can get through them barely crying. If anything is wrong, it’s a no-go. I couldn’t even do the 20min endurance section at 60% following them a few weeks ago. Full on “Get me off the bike” mode.
Interesting chatter on 3 min VO2 work seeing as I popped in to post this one:
8 x 3 min 1:1 @ 120% target. Got 'em all. Yippeeeeee…
#6 has a corner and a short downhill so wasn’t able to stay as constant on holding power
#8 was starting to suffer hence no #9 ![]()

Absolute madness! ![]()
I love it! ![]()
Bluebell
I found Bluebell easier than last week’s
Taylor -2, and I found the longer recovery a lot easier mentally.
I’m also finally feeling like I’m getting on top of my new FTP as I start week 3.
Tinker +5. Wasn’t sure what to expect as this is the first time I’ve done longer suprathreshold style intervals, but I just took them one at a time and ended up nailing it. Definitely felt it on the last couple of repeats though! ![]()
building that base up, 45mins at 90-95% and it was tough! Going to a 80/20 split even with sweet spot and see how my body handles it!
What a beast. I doubt I had the will to do that neither inside nor outside
New FTP and the first time I’ve encountered this workout. Have to say that this was great fun. Those eight second bursts keep things interesting and my HR was bang on. Looks like yesterday’s Ramp Test was a success.
Donner, with plenty of time spent trying to be aero in the drops.
I really need to lose that belly if I want to do that while being able to breathe, however ![]()
Also, stupid Garmin is not catching a GPS signal in the pain cave, and as a result, not getting the right time, screwing up everything.
Oh well, gives me a change to try extended screen, i suppose.
So my country is in lockdown, BUT we are allowed out to ride bikes. The local park which normally has cars inside, is closed to cars but not bikes (so long as we act like triathlon and don’t draft each other).
I know it takes me roughly 20 minutes to do a lap. SOooooo I was like why not go do 3x20 (with my new FTP
) then. And I managed… although naturally outside with hills etc it wasn’t all smooth, but still, I did it.
Honestly I’m going to make the most of outdoor riding because I’m sure some others won’t listen and get that on the banned list too (like in France and Italy)
The unrefined sugar it usually has a similar colour to syrup
Pro FTP increase ![]()
The sprints are fun, I like the sprints. The rest reminded me why I usually avoid the 75% endurance sessions. I’ll take two hours of 65% over 90 minutes of 75% any day of the week.
