yea pretty stoked, fitness is through the roof and lining up perfectly with my A race. I’ll probably do one of the maintenance plans to keep fitness up. No more races lined up, just fun rides, got a couple centuries and multi day bikepacking trips!
T-Max VO2 interval session. Made it through 5 intervals at 132% of FTP for 60% of the maximum time I had ever held that power at. Got the HR up to 96% of max on that last interval.

Brasted for me this morning.
I saw this workout in this thread and fancied a crack. It didn’t disappoint. The last 2/3 30 seconds intervals of each set start to nag and that means you have to focus on your breathing throughout.
All-in-all, I really enjoyed this workout ![]()
A lot of short intervals. The last 2 sets of 8 at 150% were getting to me, but it all went ok. I’ll take this over 3min VO2 intervals any day.

Junction this morning. Found it quite tough but got through it.
This week was hard and ended up taking two days off to reset myself. Found I was getting stressed about missing a workout due to factors beyond control. Tried to do them very late but ended up just stepping away for the two days. Was itching to get back into today (normally a rest day) so it was the right decision
The hour version of this workout flattened me so I have nothing but respect for your effort here ![]()

Gabb today last week of rolling road race, moved this one to today due to outside rides last weekend.
Those anaerobic efforts at 1:30-2:00 min are no joke, holding on and convincing myself to keep pedaling the last 40sec of the intervals.
Dropped Wright Peak -6 to go outside in the rain:
That big descent was super twisty, was glad to have disc brakes and 32c tires in the wet. Was also glad to not be going the other direction.
I brought the TT bike out for it’s maiden voyage. Few fit issues to rectify but the biggest problem seems to be either trek have lied about the range of saddle height adjustment or somehow the stock saddle is way way higher than the ISM that came on the bike.
Baxter. For @Nate_Pearson
Carpathian Peak +1. I did the +0 last week, thought this went quite well. Feels like fitness is starting to come back after I let it drop last month.
I setup a game controller, and played some Classic WoW throughout the whole workout. Had my arms resting on a table over my bars, with some towels for comfort. It was a little bit too stretched out, but worked. It was particularly hard to focus on actually playing during each of the work intervals, but I’d just take a minute or so between actions sometimes. I think that may have been the slowest and least efficient levels 1-6 I’ve ever done. I quite enjoyed it though.
RPE wise, the first set started getting difficult on the last over-under. And each of the following started to feel difficult one over under earlier than the last. Added some Z2 at 65%, which started to feel a bit tiring with around 20 minutes remaining.
The usual long Saturday tempo ride with a few interruptions… First a motorcycle crash in front of me, then a car pulling in front of me and blocking the road in the middle of a Strava segment, THEN found an elderly man who had fallen in a ditch near the top of the segment and helped him out and back to his car. Super lucky because it was the middle of nowhere. Went back to the bottom for the KOM of course.
Sounds like quite the ride!
Ha! I planned on some new gravel roads and the weather to be the adventure. Turned out I was wrong.
good on ya for being a good Samaritan, and rewarded with a KoM! Long ride KoM’s are the best kind of KoM’s!
Did Dardanelles -2 today, final big workout of the 40k tt specialty plan, got 3 more workouts and a group ride this week and then my A race Saturday! Stoked with my fitness, setting power PR’s all the way up to my A event is a great feeling.
Weather was truly shocking today so I opted for indoor endurance. Baxter got the nod.
Love the variety of efforts in this workout. Can totally see why Nate returns to it again and again.
Boarstone at the end of SSB2 for me yesterday, I contemplated not doing it after a super busy day at work but when I got home it was raining and the mother-in-law was around so on the trainer it was.
Didn’t feel too bad at all until 1:40-45 and just sheer fatigue hit me over the head, finished the workout though but could barely fork dinner into my mouth and drag myself to bed at 7:15(I am a baker and start at 3am so it’s not too abnormal). Had a huge week for a supposed recovery week with skiing and a game of indoor football(soccer) thrown in. Hopefully the mother-in-law doesn’t come round so I can have a bit of a proper rest before throwing myself into sustained build next week ![]()
Huxley.
I love this workout as a race simulator, also love the in-workout text with coach Chad which makes me push harder.
Done with SSBMV I and II, General build MV and Rolling road race MV. Rest week upcoming then back to SSBMV I. Now for some fun relaxing outside rides with no focus ![]()
Had a key workout two weeks ahead of my first 70.3. 105 minute ride at 80-85% FTP and 75 minute race pace run. I’m happy with how things went. I do wish I had a TT bike instead of a road bike. I feel like I could pick up a few MPH pretty easily with the power I’m putting out. Maybe next season…
