Thoughts on intervals.icu data breakdown

That is from time in zones. Switched over to TRIMP and the numbers are far more reasonable.

Looked at some earlier rides with HR and have hit 199 load from a 56 minute ride using time in zones.

This comment… do you mean you’ve seen this “time in gradient” data on a per ride basis within Intervals.icu, or in some other app?

Elevate plugin for chrome.

Excellent work @davidtinker , keep using youre site more and more and becoming soon my main goto for most stuff. Gonna give planning in calendar a go now and wondered about a couple of things:

  1. Is it possible to hide all workout info in the calendar? see marked green.
  2. Possibility to copy/paste workouts in calendar.
  3. Is it possible to make notes come on top?
  4. Possible to edit passed workouts and give them color?
  5. Possible to name and color the big blue bar on top?

Use excel atm for most of my planning and i just Color my historic TSS number to see what type workout i did, Anarobic/VO2max/Treshold/Sweetspot and so on.

Just thoughts i would love to see.

Tx. So you would like a “compact” mode that fits a lot more on the page? I would also need to reduce the amount of info displayed in the weekly summary for this to work.

In Intervals.icu terminology activities are rides/runs etc. you have completed and workouts are planned activities. I could make the colour of bar on top of an activity or workout configurable. Good idea. This is how it currently works:

You can do this using drag and drop. Click the “Copy when dragging” checkbox on the library. Then when you drag and drop a planned workout a copy is made. You can also drag past activities onto the library to create workouts for planning which you can then drag onto the calendar.

Multi-day notes are already displayed on top. I could do something similar for single day notes.

More compact yes for easier history, when looking a bit back it’s not so interesting to see all the info about intervals and so on. when trying to make future plans based on what you have already done. But just suggestions, will start to play around allot with calendar so will give feedback.
Copy is already possible thats good :).

Not sure how new it is but the new power HR decoupling chart (power tab on activities) is super clean. I like it.

One thing I forgot to mention that you can do now is tick “Show weekly totals on top” in “Options”. That will generally let you fit in more activities.

I am going to do some work on this today. Good ideas + easy to implement!

I’ve just been thinking of the three modes of training progression, frequency, intensity, duration, and was wondering if you could track that somehow? I’m thinking of a graph with a trendline for each of them, over a length of time (maybe customisable to your training cycle?)
For duration there might actually be different options, total duration and time in zone.

I think that would make it a bit easier to see if you’re working in the right direction. I find just looking at tss or total duration can be a bit misleading.

Duration is no good, TSS is good. But kcal is also nice, doesnt get affected by ftp changes which can do big stuff to tss.

I added display modes to the calendar. Compact leaves out intervals, minimal also leaves out the name of the activity and flags.

How to better represent intensity on the fitness chart has come up on the Intervals.icu forums a couple of times. You can get TSS from riding a lot or high intensity rides. Suggestions include plotting CIL (chronic intensity load) which is like CTL but only considering intensity and plotting kJ of work above FTP.

Those changes is exactly what i was hoping for.
Now i only miss self made note above workouts and or possibility of changing color of blue bar for workout (i think last one would be best to make it easy visual to see different types of workouts.)

That sounds also interesting, and would cover the intesity progress. Even though I wonder if you wouldn’t end up with it being fairly similar most of the time.
I know the duration/TiZ data is already on there, but only in totals, not over time.

Yeah, my problem with tss is that you can build a lot of tss just riding a lot - cafe breaks included. And if you’re racing a lot, you tss can be really low, even though you’re constantly too tired to do much.

@davidtinker

Started my testing.
Looks good, are you still working on changes/implements?.

You can now colour code planned workouts and workouts in your library. Colour coding completed activities is coming soon.

There it is, great work!.
Just need to be able to color bar on workouts already done then it will be a very good and easy planning/historic tool for me.

On the side note, the name of the workout could be in the top bar, duration/km is not important to me but name and TSS, but this might not apply to all ofcourse.

On yesterday’s ride I had a peak 5 second power of 1042W but intervals.icu is showing my maximum power for this ride was 713W. Is there any way to fix this?

Edit: Just adjusted the data by checking Raw Power and power spikes.

This just got done. No FTP changes in the notes but you can see those on the strip charts.

Hi, since this is my planning platform i will bug you like crazy  , hopefully youre happy for input though.
Instead of doing any changes to workouts thats already done, maybe increase the notes visual impact?.
Just some ideas, bigger/bold font, maybe a bar for the note? Would really love if the color did a bit more impac, name is not as important. This combined with note on top perhaps.

Also would love the color yellow and pink as option

The calender is super easy to work with, both on pc and smart devices. And youre entire site has made golden cheetah obsolete, i hate going in there to feed my OCD by importing rides (do have 2500 hours/4 years of data there so can’t stop even if i barely use it anymore).
