I know this is an old post, but wanted to revive it because I had a, seemingly, similar situation today.
After my workout today, there was a single adaptation proposed to my upcoming Sunday ride, but that was just a sort of ‘swap’ for a longer ride at a lower intensity, resulting in the same TSS for the two options.
This evening, however, TR proposed adaptions for the 4 rides on my schedule for the remainder this week, reducing my overall TSS from 355 to 203. I was confused as to why a changes like this would be suggested, as my training has been going well and today’s workout RPE was rated as a 5 (on the ‘out of 10’ scale in Zwift).
I searched around the web a bit for some reasons why this might be happening, without much success, and pondered whether I wanted to accept the adaptations (i.e. trust the app), or reject them. However, after about 5 minutes my calendar refreshed and said ‘No adaptations necessary’.
So, what is going on with this? While I’m glad that the proposed adaptations disappeared (as I am feeling good and don’t think they were needed), I’m also wondering what would have happened had I accepted them, as I might have spent the rest of the week - or at least tomorrow - doing workouts that were too easy.
Is this some sort of glitch in the AI? And, if so, how frequently does this happen? I’ve only been on TR a few weeks, and haven’t had a ton of adaptations, so I’m wondering if people see this sort of thing frequently, and how they respond.
Yep. I’m trying to figure out how this works, but I regularly get adaptations that slightly lower the level of workouts 4 weeks out (and sometimes 6 weeks out) out despite doing the current workouts exactly as prescribed. Sometimes, it shows no adaptations needed after a workout but then two days later, before the next workout, it recommends adaptations. Last Thu I did an unstructured outdoor ride instead of a the scheduled workout, got no adaptations, then two days later it recommended a slight increase in intensity of the Thu workout two weeks out. I accept them as I figure it’s a major part of what I’m paying for, but it is somewhat baffling.
