Hello,
Normally i see some plan adaptations suggested by TR, but these come in lower numbers and I‘m happily accepting these trusting AI knows exactly what I need to progress.
I did last training on Sunday night and yesterday ,on my rest day, installed latest TR app update on my iPhone.
Then suddenly when checking what‘s ahead of me this evening, out of sudden TR is showing 9 plan adaptations. What is also slightly concerning is that most of these suggest I should lower my effort over the period of next 2-3 weeks. I follow my plan like a bible (
) and hence my surprise why exactly i‘m now suggested to do easier sessions.
Didn’t have a chance to check if on my laptop same adaptations are suggested, but I can‘t seem to remember any disconnect between Win11 and iOS apps so far.
Any chance with last TR update, underlying engine had a revamp which is causing all these plan changes? Anyone seeing same behavior?
Thanks
Hey there,
I’ve taken a look at your calendar on the web, and things all look pretty good to me.
Don’t look too far into the future, as adaptations typically won’t be made for future phases, so that upcoming Build phase will likely adapt once you enter it.
I don’t see any suggested adaptations that would contradict your current Progression Levels. Are there any suggestions that you’re concerned about in particular?
It is totally normal for workouts to adapt to lower levels sometimes. The nature of our software is to be adaptive and that means that future workouts are never likely going to stick around very long. It’s better to not pay too much attention to what’s on the horizon and rather focus on what’s happening today, tomorrow, and this week. Things will likely adapt again before you get to them..
I had an adaptation occur maybe a month ago just when I opened the calendar on the web browser. Hadn’t done a workout that day. I think it was because of a Progression Level getting “stale”, because it probably was two weeks since a productive workout in that zone. I did notice that the PL had dropped. I grumbled, but it made sense.
If it sounds like that sort of thing I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Hey,
since I’m back from my 1 week holidays 2 weeks ago, apart from following suggested TR sessions I did extra rope skipping and strength trainings. Overall, since last couple of days, I feel like back to my usual form and pretty strong. Felt bit disappointed seeing now that most of the sessions suggested will have a lesser influence on my PL and have lower intensity, e.g (from this week).
Guyat SS 4.6 → Carson SS 3.7
Steamboat SS 4.4 → Mount Hayes SS 3.7
Beasley TH 3.7 → Mount Wood TH 2.7
Assume, best is to still follow and see what happens, right?
Thanks
Those adaptations all fall in line with your Progression Levels pretty well.
You could always use Workout Alternates to find other options that are more challenging but still follow the plan’s discipline, though!
It might be better to follow the plan for a week since you’re just getting back into things after a week off. It’s your call!
Let me know how it goes..

I’ve had luck with this approach after coming back from holiday.
Give TR a week just to get your momentum back, then depending on how your body feels, use workout alternates and pick higher PL workouts to give TR a little boost to get you back where you think you should be.
As a rule I never go more that 1 full PL point at a time.
