Curious Recommended adaptations to plan

Just interesting/curious, but after recent workouts I’m getting very small recommended adaptations 4 weeks and 6 weeks out. When I finished today’s workout it said “No adaptions required”. Then I happened to open the app 6 hrs later and I get a recommended workout 4 weeks out with IF going down by 0.01 (same as original TSS) and one 6 weeks out with TSS going down 1.0 (same as original IF). That happened on my previous workout as well. This is all within the Base 3 block. NBD, but those are very small, far out timewise, and interesting it changed its mind after 6 hrs.

I’ve noticed this in the past. I always assumed it was just some new refinement they made to the algorithm. But I’d be interested to read an actual answer.

Yeah. In addition, I noticed today when looking my calendar that today had turned into a yellow day whereas it wasn’t yesterday after I completed the workout. IDK, but it seems to me making those minuscule adaptations at 4 and 6 weeks out is rather of frivolous.

Hey there,

I’ve just taken a look at your adapt history and I don’t see anything too strange on my end.

I think part of what makes this confusing is that you have a rest week next week so many of the adaptations we’re going to recommend are going to be for at least two weeks out.

Since you’re early in your current phase, we’re also going to sometimes adapt a few weeks at a time. For instance, after this week, your next Threshold workout is on March 8th, then March 15th, and March 22nd (which is the last Threshold workout of your current phase). This means that if we adjust the workout on the 8th, we should also adjust the following workouts as well.

Ultimately, these could all change again as you progress, but, as of now, it makes sense to shift all of the workouts of a specific type in your current phase sometimes if we’re adjusting one.

Let me know if this helps to clear things up. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes. Thanks for the clarifications. I wasn’t saying they’re wrong. I was just making the observation that they’re very tiny and far out. Also, I’m finishing a workout and not getting these until I later look at the website. In any case, it’s NBD. I always accept them as I figure they’re a significant (or maybe in this case insignificant?) part of why I use TR.
