Kudos on entering the event!
For a course like that, we’d probably recommend the Climbing RR or Gran Fondo plans. The plan that’s best for you will depend on how you want to race the course/other riders.
The Climbing RR plan will feature more workouts with surges above FTP to simulate the surges/attacks you might face when riding up a climb in a pack of riders. You’ll get more over/under-type workouts to prepare for that kind of racing.
The Gran Fondo plan, meanwhile, will have you doing more pure, steady efforts if you’d prefer to pace the climbs on your own terms. There may still be some over/under work, but the “overs” won’t be as intense as you’d see in the Climbing RR plan.
The TT plan would have you doing similar workouts as the Gran Fondo plan, but with more focus on Threshold and less on VO2 Max.
Hope that info helps guide your decision! Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you @ZackeryWeimer
I’ve loaded up a Climbing Low Volume Masters plan. Looks good👌
Definitely the Climbing RR as @ZackeryWeimer has suggested. I did this plan earlier this year, also the masters low volume plan, and it worked great. For me, I wanted the plan to account for my structured sessions - so I had something like a 3 hour week in the plan - and then I would get a longer ride in on top of the plan where it was just riding, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, whatever I felt like. For the 10 weeks leading into my event it meant I was cycling between 5-10 hours a week, which was plenty for me. My target for the year is averaging 4 hours a week - no miles target this year, just time on the bike target… and I’m already at more miles than last year and more elevation. I have found it much easier to focus on time rather than distance or anything else.
Good luck with event, I’m sure you’ll smash it.
I also run and swim, but I didn’t think the triathlon plans would suit a road event with elevation?
The LV Climb RR looks good, and can fit swims and runs around it
