After my previous post: B Race canceled with A race in two weeks What now?
Now I didnt start the A race due for today. Heavy rain wind and too cold for me.

My next A race (ultra MTB) is only in may. I didnt like the way adaptative training reacted to me deleting the B race two weeks ago ending with two big taper weeks after no B race. Next week is sheduled as recovery week but not doing this A race all must be adapted now.
So my big question is. Should I delete the A race or let it stay on the calendar and mark uncomplete? Wich behaviour can I expect from AI dealing with both options? Im not doing a recovery week after two tapper weeks and no A event in between.
It’s Ai. It should check for adaptations.
I’d mark incomplete. My 2 cents.

Theres no uncomplete button only the other way atound to mark complete an activity that hasnt any data syncked.
I’ve left it like it was but still no adaptation suggestion after two tapper weeks an 7h30 A race that I didnt do and the same recovery week workouts starting today

Long AI Rant -
In my opinion, people tend to grossly overestimate what AI is looking at and doing behind the scenes. Not just in TR, I see this phenomenon everywhere. Just because a company uses AI in their solution, it doesn’t mean they use it for all aspects. AI can be super powerful, but it’s still very much in it’s infancy. Coming from the supply chain software world, every company is touting their AI capabilities and investing in AI, but the marketing is often way ahead of the capabilities. Users drink the AI cool-aid and the software companies are happy to let people think AI magic is happening everywhere in the black box making every aspect of the system better. This isn’t a knock on the software companies, that’s how marketing works and users want to believe.
I have no idea how many aspects of the TR system are heavily leveraging AI, but I see a lot of posts assuming it’s being used to manage every decision and aspect of the plan. And maybe it is, but I personally wouldn’t assume anything beyond what TR specifically calls out (and I wouldn’t expect any software company to provide exact details on how/where it’s used). And even if an aspect is touched by AI in some way, that doesn’t mean it’s fully mature or shouldn’t be adjusted manually when you see fit. Maybe TR AI is actively managing the schedule and watching races come and go, accounting for life’s disruptions, etc., but from what I see it is working on a somewhat rigid core schedule structure and using some basic logic to line things up the best it can. It might have some AI aspects in the schedule adjustments, might not, but either way the scheduling doesn’t appear overly sophisticated to me and schedule optimization can get pretty complex. I’m not saying the current approach isn’t good/effective or that TR is overselling their solution, just that it shouldn’t be blindly trusted and we shouldn’t be shy about shifting things around manually when we see fit.

Agree AI is not perfect and surely cant solve everything by itself but not doing a huge 7h30 A race after two tapper weeks and seeing no adaption suggestions for this planned recovery week seems very unexpected. Doing this plan since october saw several adaptation suggestions after minor plan deviations. This is a big deviation on what was planned and nothing happened.
Im considering deleting the plan and reshedule the rest of the season because im sure it wont give me a recovery week after two very low TSS weeks.

Whether AI is involved or not isn’t really relevant. Maybe AI is used to time rest weeks and just isn’t handling your situation well, maybe it’s not using AI and it’s just simple logic to drop in a rest week every 4th week of the plan as long as there isn’t a conflict. Either way, if you don’t think it’s right, it’s easy enough to move things around. And TR support can be super helpful, maybe reach out to them to get an explanation and/or help adjusting things.
Also, it doesn’t sound relevant here if you are sill within a block, but one thing I see in the TR adaptation behavior is that it doesn’t seem to adjust the next block until the first day of that phase. So, I might have a current threshold progression of 6+, but I’ll have threshold workouts with PL’s in the 4’s scheduled for next week (when next week is the start of a new phase). As soon as the new phase starts, it will recommend adapting those workouts up into the 6’s, but not before. Not sure why it works that way, but I reached out to support on that issue once and they basically told me to wait until the first day and it would adjust (and it did).

Contacted support and got a straight answer!
"So, should you delete the A race or mark it incomplete?
Here’s what to expect with each option:
Deleting the A Race:
This will trigger significant adaptations to your plan.
TrainerRoad will likely remove the taper and recovery structure that was built around that A event.
It will then reorient your training toward your next A race in May, likely ramping up intensity or volume more quickly, depending on your phase.
Leaving It and Marking Uncompleted:
Adaptive Training will still adjust, but it may leave in a lighter week or two (based on the assumption that your body still peaked/tapered for an A event).
This approach may cause a bit of a delay in getting back to full training stress, which it sounds like you want to avoid.
Recommendation:
Since you’ve already had a taper and didn’t race, and you’re looking to get back into a productive training rhythm without wasting another low-load week, deleting the A race is your best bet. This will help Adaptive Training recognize that there was no race and allow it to accelerate your progression toward your next big goal in May.
Alternatively, you can leave it as incomplete and manually tweak your training for this week to swap out any scheduled Workouts for longer ones. Let us know which option you decide to go with!
Feel free to reach out with any further questions or queries, and I’ll be happy to help!"
So I went and deleted the A race not done. Got immediatly a note if id like to update the plan. Said yes but I was in the subway and had internet data failure for sime time and the app kept spinning “loading”. After quite a while I shutt off and on again the app and all stayed the same.
