It’s important to note that while TrainNow will look at your most recent workouts when making a recommendation, it does not consider periodization, fatigue, or other factors. This is why we recommend TrainNow primarily for athletes who like to supplement unstructured riding with occasional structured workouts. It’s not intended as a replacement for a training plan.
I checked out your account and it looks like you had a recent training trip where you were able to do a 20hr week followed up by a 10hr week, both of which were much more volume and TSS than your average weeks leading into that trip. Big training blocks like that will warrant some extra recovery, but TrainNow won’t recognize if you need a recovery week after such a big period of riding.
If you are looking for that type of structure and periodization, we recommend using a training plan. Plan Builder would be a great option to check out – even if your goal is just to increase your FTP, it will create a plan that will help you reach that goal!
As for AI FTP Detection, you can access it from your Account settings by clicking the “AI FTP Detection” button. You can also click the AI FTP Detection button on any FTP Test scheduled on your Calendar, as well as from any FTP test’s workout details. You can trigger a new AI FTP Detection every 28 days.
