Official World Wide Disaster 2020 Thread!

Will check my schedule…but that workout looks harder than disaster…

Alright, I skipped on the unofficial post-Thanksgiving disaster because I was so full, but I am in for the one on the 12th. Anyone doing these in the US time zones and want to do a group ride?

Gave Rockhouse a bash this morning out of curiosity, defo more intense with all the vo2. Cut it short by 24 mins, still 190 tss and 8 prs.

I’m in UK too. I’ve got Mokelumne scheduled for the 12th.
I wont be doing Disaster, as have that scheduled for Christmas day, if weather bad. If not it will be an outside long MTB ride. I could throw something in , instead of Mokelumne, but don’t want to do one that’s in my plan.
I thought of Blood +3, but looks bloody horrendous. Definitely be tasting blood doing this one :hot_face: :hot_face: :hot_face:

Any word on when group workouts will appear on iOS?

I have Leconte scheduled as my last workout in SSBLV2 before recovery week - I’m happy to swap that out for something else that similarly isn’t in my plan.

I just looked at Blood +3. Absolutely vile. How about any of the ‘Blood’ workouts or anything around the 3 - 3.5hr mark / similarly horrendous gets put into a hat and drawn at random?

I’d like to do the 12th assuming the gyms are still open in the UK as I use their WattBikes.

I use an iPhone 5 so no group workout for me, but I’ll give it a bash.

Having never done anythign longer than 2 hours before it’ll be interesting to see how the fuelling will go.

Getting enough fuel for something like Disaster is tricky. My general rule of thumb is eat every rest interval, whether you think you need it or not. Disaster catches up to you quickly!

Be especially prepped for “Fireworks.” The most common place for things to come unstuck, so definitely pop a gel (or two :grin:) before Fireworks!

Didn’t do it last weekend - weather too good not to go outside.

Going to pencil in for 12th, AM here in Ireland, but will depend on the weather. Stuck in the house all week working, the pull of outside any reasonable Saturday at the moment!

I’m on android, so no group workout for me either - laps of the volcano circuit I suppose and get that 100 laps badge?

I did 2018, didn’t do last year, but still remember the pure struggle of Fireworks…

With AM ride I was thinking more like 6am :crazy_face: That’s my normal Saturday morning wo time… Wife is at work, so if I get the kids out of the house and legs aren’t totally trashed from the other work that week I’ll join you guys for my first D-2 and group ride. Should be fun…

Ack! I was planning to do Disaster-1 on 12/13 since my husband is riding the full version as a belated bday present to himself on the big day. Now I’m debating whether to push it to this Sunday or keep with my plan and figure it’s good enough.

Penciled in -2 version for the 12th - pending family activities. It is my recovery week, so why not.

Ha, I saw Rockhouse after disaster this weekend too. Those 1/1s at 125 and 135% look awful. Awful.

Think I’ll try disaster -2 on the 6th. Something to break up the routine a bit anyway.

Luckily I’m in Sprint Tri specialty and no ramp test, only a nice VO2 session (Givens) :hot_face: .
