TrainerRoad AI is finally here. Hallelujah! I already had a training plan scheduled. AI FTP prediction says in 4 weeks my FTP will decrease by 7W. Why would I want to follow a plan that decreases my FTP?! I’m using TR to improve my FTP. Should I delete my existing plan and replace it?

Best guess would be that the TR AI has determined that your current plan is too aggressive and you will not recover properly to increase your FTP. Added working sets (0→7) to my scheduled strength training once a week. Predicted ftp up from 260→265. Then changed day of week for strength training, same volume, predicted ftp 260→260. Changed strength training day back, still same volume, predicted ftp still 260→260. Confused

I have the same issue. I think this AI thing is complete rubbish! I played around with the training plan making it easier and making it harder and no matter what I do, it says that my FTP will decrease even though I’m asking it to create a plan that will increase FTP. I guess I’ll just ignore it …

Or just do the workouts scheduled and rate them appropriately. If TR system notices you keep rating sessions supposed to be hard as easy/moderate, it will give harder sessions over time, which should affect positively your predicted FTP.
