If you’re still under warranty I’d see if you can return it and get the Eight Sleep. I’ve owned both. The Eight Sleep is just a far superior product.
This has me wondering if mine has a similar problem. I had water on the floor back to back days and then seemed to have low water daily for a week or so. I have not had any problems for a few week though. I reached out to support about the low water and they said that running the dock pro at a high temp can cause faster evaporation though? I’ve been running it at 80-82 in a room at 60…
Will have to keep an eye on it and reach out to their support if I have any more problems…
Any ideas what the power consumption on the DockPro is like?
My bedroom is a loft conversion, south facing windows, in the summer it can easily cook up to 29/30c in the room. Normally combat it with AirCon which ends up running overtime to try and cool room down before bed.
wanted to compare the dockpro price & power consumption vs the aircon unit to see if it will work out cheaper in the long run.
It’s rated at 350W. Not sure if that’s max or nominal. I think most ratings are max? So you’re looking at 2.8kW per night if you run it to maxed out for 8 hours. Gotta be less than your A/C I would imagine.
I don’t track my electricity bill that close but it certainly didn’t go up when we got ours. Wouldn’t be surprised if it went down (usage-wise at least…cost can’t be compared with the ridiculous price inflation).
Random update: woke up the other day and the dock pro sprung a leak on the pad some where around my knees. Cue endless bed wetting jokes. Took a picture, emailed them, and 24 hours later there’s another We cover on the way. Sleeping on a non-cooled bed the past few nights has been less than satisfactory, so the product is clearly worth it for me.
Sleep 8 better be a better product. Here in Canada the 8 sleep is $3250.00 the dock pro is $1614.00
omg
My Ooler started leaking recently, I purchased it back in January of 2020, so I’m quite disappointed when I contacted support and their company no longer supports Ooler repairs. I ended up tearing most of the unit apart and see that they really have poor build quality and components. Real cheap fan, which is where the noise in the unit comes from, and tubing that will eventually form a leak. Furthermore, the build engineering, actually getting into the unit to tie down hose clamps is really poor. Not built for repair at all.
Anyway, their customer support offered me the 25% discount for the Dock Pro, but reading upthread I see that it’s also just a promotional seasonal offer, and they claim that I’m a “special customer” BS.
The Ooler worked well for the time I had it, but only lasting three years??? Furthermore, I ended up buying a King size chilpad for the Ooler, and that was almost two years ago…so now I have a relatively new pad.
So those of you with the Dock Pro, and have had it for more than a couple of years, are you happy with it? Other than the WiFi issues, how about leaking, noisy fans or other general build issues?
The Sleep 8 is pretty steep, and I’m not sure I’ll buy it…maybe sleep through a hot summer and decide.
I’ve had my dock pro since June '22 (I don’t think it had been out very long at that point?). I ordered the Queen / we for wife and I. The first shipment had both units DOA. They turned on but the screens were blank and didn’t respond to buttons. So sent those back and got 2 new ones. Was janky setting up the wifi as stated in most forums and earlier in this thread but since then mine have worked just fine. My house has pretty terrible HVAC balance so having the cool bed in the summer (hot and humid Ohio) is fantastic when our bedroom is 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Also great in the winter taking the dog outside just before bed when it’s single digits outside and hopping into an 80 degree bed.
I’m just one data point but it h as worked for us.
Same here, King dual version. Have had one unit die and got it replaced under warranty. Integration with Android is terrible. Once you get it working though, I’ve found it to be a gamechanger for sleep. I start my nights hot and end them cold while my partner starts cold and ends hot. We’re able to program our units to keep ourselves the perfect temperatures all night.
Go 8Sleep. I’ve owned the Dock Pro and the 8Sleep. The 8Sleep is a far, far superior product. Everything about the build is higher quality.
Never had a single Wi-Fi issue. But it turns on randomly sometimes. Water evaporation rate is incredibly high. Agree that fan is loud too. I assumed it was the pump.
Re: dock pro.
Bought in September 2022, once we got the WiFi working it was great to set the schedule and forget about it. One of the mattress pads sprang a leak randomly about a year in, company replaced no problem. I also had a unit misbehave and break, but also covered under warranty. They shipped it out pretty quickly.
The high evaporation rate does annoy me, I still don’t understand why it’s an open system vs. a closed that you occasionally flush.
However, I love the cooler temps and I sleep like a baby on this thing. I hate that I can’t take it with me everywhere I go.
We’ve had two Dock Pros with a King pad since around August 2022. One has functioned perfectly. The other we had to have warranty replaced because it kept sucking water back out of the pad and overflowing…. Of course this happened as the company was going through a sale or problems or whatever, so we had to wait a few months for a new unit. No problems with the pad at all.
We really like it and will probably never sleep without something like it again.
