The bug was your setup. You have a great community around here trying to help you but I’ve to admit your tone doesn’t encourage the engagement.
You have multiple options already mentioned like
do ramp test
Manually pick appropriate workouts for some weeks until the system catches up
Additionally my advice would be to erase all data. And then manually just upload the fit files with correct power (after you had fixed your setup). You could even use sites as
with power adjuster to correct the power of your old files … maybe even just the old ramp test … then upload these and your good to go.
If all this is no option for you then maybe TR is not the right platform for you.
That was my issue with my FTP bump and the workouts. heart rate was going not where I was comfortable. I did a manual FTP adjustment. All has worked well. I just dont see the ftp prediction
Obviously the model is being fed some bad data but I wonder why it does not also update itself when there are “breakthrough” efforts like the one in the image? Like if the ai thinks my ftp is 100w and I ride a workout at 200w for 40m it should look at that and go huh, maybe the users ftp is closer to 200w?
eta: I guess it depends on how much bad data there is and how the model weights everything?
Yep, no idea how many bad rides are in there with wrong data. I was mostly thinking that if you do an effort at ~40-70m that is well above the users current ftp the model should see that and at least bump things up a bit?
They could try a level 9+ or whatever sweetspot at the level they think they can work at and see if that bumps it up. That should still be a thing in the new system. However that will still probably be looking at all the bad data.
The thing with magically bumping it up is you could have a situation opposite where it suddenly does one ride and reads too high. No one wants to get prompted for a bad file to bump their FTP so I don’t think they have anything built in to just look at power profile from one ride and guess a new FTP like say intervals does. Not that this method is wrong just not how TR has set it up.
Or, this may be a little crazy to suggest, not sure it has come up yet… do a ramp test.
If you do a ramp test to the HR limit that you’re medically allowed, will that increase your ftp? It would presumably satisfy their need for a ramp test in your history. Even if it didn’t increase your ftp, my next question is: will you then be able to manually enter a new ftp and be able to proceed. I’d try that before I spent another week on the internet discussing it.
Look peeps. I’ve seen this user on the like the 3rd thread going on about this same issue. They’ve been given perfectly good solutions by TR and by all of you in the community. All they do is moan and sound entitled. can’t accept that they’ve got to do some work. In the interests of the community and to keep the channels sane, can we agree to ignore this issue from this user going forward and stop providing further support on this . At this point it stops feeling genuine and starts to feel like someone is trolling, or at least somehow looking for continuous engagement.
Of the workout is too easy compared to what it’s supposed to be, such as a threshold workout feeling like you could do it twice in a row, then simply use the IN WORKOUT intensity setting to scale up the intensity to the point that the workout feels like it should (hard or very hard for a threshold workout). This will show the AI that to ate more capable.
People think they need to adjust the FTP setting to get the AI to feed them harder workouts, but the AI doesn’t see your FTP setting. The main thing it sees are your actual watts vs duration history, plus HR, RPE, age as smaller factors.
