Moving "up" Workouts

Hey ya’ll, I’m curious how everyone handles upcoming known breaks for work, travel, life etc? For example, I’m in my rest week after a hard block, but next week (week-1 of build) I have a three-day work trip planned where I won’t be able to train. So, my thought is to cut my rest week short, move my Tuesday and Wednesday workouts up to this weekend and thus shorten my rest week - knowing I’ll get it back next week. But, am I robbing myself of a true rest week doing that? What would y’all say the limits are? In the future, I’d LOVE if AT could see “upcoming” breaks and frontload accordingly, but for now I’ll take the forum advice!

I am coming off a pretty hard block and ended with three yellow days in a row so I’ve been “good” and done the minimum this week so far… feel ok to hit it tomorrow and looking for validation as usual

Hey @Andrew_Learned

I would recommend just applying a Training Adjustment [click] and letting the plan adjust as needed.

I would not recommend cutting the Recovery Week short and then “getting that time back” on your days off as a proper recovery from your last training block doesn’t quite work like that, hehe. You want a full/uninterrupted Recovery Week so your body is able to recharge, heal and be stronger before hitting the next block. I would say it’s better to extend the Recovery Week in your case, especially since you mentioned it’s been a hard block. Better to start off your next phase strong :flexed_biceps: !!
