New feature request here. Often I have wished I could move a rest/recovery week up by a week or two and have the plan adjust the following weeks. There are two reasons I have wanted to do this:
(1) fatigue build up from the plan or ‘life’ have led to the last week of work being just a bit too much and I feel it would be good to rest earlier than prescribed rather than trying to push through another week of tough workouts, or
(2) when traveling for work I know I will not get much done during the week. While traveling I could manage an easy spin on a gym bike or light run but intervals are harder to fit in. I have tried to rearrange the calendar but it just gets messy and the AI doesn’t really recalibrate things.
If this kind of feature is not possible what is a good suggestion to do this manually?
I’ve not used it myself but on the calendar (the web calendar at least) there’s a ‘Quick Action’ drop down that allows you to move/copy or delete a week.
For #1, I would suggest picking easier workouts through Workout Alternates if you feel like ‘life’ has led to the last week of work being just a bit too much. Even taking the day off is fine too! Sometimes we need it.
For #2, you can manually swap the Recovery Week for the training week! You can manually drag and drop the workouts to switch them, or you can use the Copy/Move week feature.
Note: as you complete the swapped workouts AT should serve the necessary adaptations if needed. You can also always contact support@trainerroad.com for help!
Thanks for the suggestions, I have manually moved things and/or copied weeks to move them but it doesn’t shift the whole plan back a week. For instance, say I’m coming into the last hard week of a cycle but I know I’ll be traveling. I have copied the following rest week to the travel week but then I’m left with a full build cycle that’s an extra week longer now because the following rest week does not shift.
Not sure what m explaining that well but I hope it makes sense. On the calendar it could have an option for skip a week and move everything up.
Right, moving your weeks around won’t shift the whole plan, so in your case you will end up with an extra week on your Build Phase before you get to the following Recovery Week.
