Low Volume plan advice

Hi guys:) new here but not new to cycling. I’m looking for advice on a sustainable training plan. I am a competitive enthusiast that may dab in racing this spring. I heavy weight train three days a week and also do yoga 3 days a week. Would the low volume plan be best on the same days I weight train? To allow for proper recovery? Was thinking training on the bike am and weights late afternoon. I am a parent and also work 5 days a week. Thoughts-advice?

Yes. Split workouts on the same day, and full rest days are the common recommendation.

If you can handle the double days then that is a good way to do it. It’s good to not have cycling the day after your lifting days, especially if you are lifting legs. I will do cycling the day after upper body lifting and not notice any detriment. This may be different if you are really smashing it in the weight room though.

I definitely hit the weights hard, a lot of kettlebell training.
