hm I’m no expert, but I would guess it might still take quite a while until they are available for purchase… they have a pretty big backlog of original backers to work through… and who knows how much they can even produce in these supply-chain interrupting times. (All assuming they even are at the stage of smooth mass production)
I’m not expecting to see it until the end of the year if I order now.
Ordering from their web store seems to be a quite safe option.
They still have that special reduced price, but I suppose that offer will end at some point.
IQ2 has some news:
uuuh that’s kinda exciting. Moment of truth!
Let’s see what happens @dcrainmaker and @gpl!
That’s the nice part about power meters, data is data.
Very few products are as close to black and white as power meter testing.
I look forward to seeing the data once you have wiped down the box and set them up
. It is one hell of walk to @gpl, she needs to jump on the boat ![]()
This is exciting, well as exciting as random bike bits can be!
Well there are over 3500 backers waiting for something to show up. Even at 15% ordering dual sided, that’s getting into the 4000 unit range. That and the drama is sure to garner attention.
Work Carol Baskins in there and you have a blockbuster
IQ^2 King (ft. GP Sheepy) a NetFlix exclusive
I’m looking forward to the review ![]()
Exactly. Lots of people who backed them, and then probably told their cycling friends about the debacle. Even my casual cycle friends know about the IQ2 because I’ve been complaining about it for over a year. So lots of eyes are on this. It’s the duke nukem forever of power meters.
Let’s hope that unlike with Duke Nukem, the wait will be worth it. Even if it is “just” decent, I might get a pair for my second bike to track my TSS properly.
Since I have pair of Assioma pedals I’m not interested in the IQ2 to purchase but they have received so much ink in the forums I follow along strictly for entertainment purposes. The whole long ordeal has become something like a soap opera to me and I’m curious as to how it will end up.
I know it’s further away, but if they can produce an affordable functional SPD type power meter then they will have a big market available to them. £1000 is too much for a pedal to take off-road, and the Assioma hack is cool, but still a lot of money to put in harms way (and the pod is vulnerable).
The initial idea was brilliant, cheap and compatible with every bike/crank/pedal (ignoring the q-factor). Now it’s just a cheap pedal PM. But as mentioned before, interesting for spd/mtb but still a vulnarable (and expensive) product for MTB… I would prefer a cheaper crank base PM for MTB
I am also anxiously awaiting your reviews of the new chainring (??) PMs you mentioned earlier. I am really hoping for something for the MTB that I won’t destroy with a rock strike.
They still have a price advantage. They’re probably under pricing it though.
The MTB pedal should be desirable if it physically doesn’t suck and technically doesn’t suck.
