Just did a workout that was pulled from my TrainingPeaks acct. It’s Z2 1hour, main workout 3x8mins Z5, 5mins Z1 rest, Z2 30mins.
Instead of Z2 30mins, I decided to cut it to 15mins which basically made the workout “incomplete”.
No progress as per the app. In real world, this should trigger an adaptation. I’ve done multiple workouts like this where I would cut cool down to 15 instead of 30mins. It’s rendered “incomplete”.
Out of curiosity, how is it not reflected in the app? Pretty sure(I hope so) that AI detection still considers this a good workout when evaluating my FTP every 28 days. Or does it not?

Hey there,
This happens if the part of the custom workout where you decided to quit wasn’t properly marked as a “cooldown.”
Typically, ending a workout during a cooldown interval won’t result in the cut-short stamp, but, again, if you end the workout in an interval that isn’t specified as a cooldown, the workout will be considered cut-short.
Can you confirm if the workout you just completed has a cooldown interval at the end?
AI FTP Detection will still look at the data in those rides, so don’t worry about that.
It does have a 3 minutes cooldown. Thanks for the explanation. I was curious but was 100% confident TR has considered situation like this.
Having said that, I may have an inaccurate Progression Levels then. A few of my workouts recently are similar to this one. Got the warm up and main workout done, then decides to just do a brief 5-15 minutes cool down instead of the indicated 20 mins Z2 then 3-5 minutes cool down.
