Does TR think an unfinished workout is equivalent to no workout at all?

Hello!

I’m discovering an issue with TR and I need some insight on if this issue is on purpose or if it is a bug.

Today I attempted a “breakthrough” anaerobic workout, Parchamo Anaerobic 5.4 on my wheel-on trainer. It was listed at a breakthrough workout because I have done 0 anaerobic workouts on trainer road. I was on my 2nd to last sprint interval and had one more to go when the tube in my back wheel burst. I had to stop the workout and I listed why I canceled as “mechanical issue” and that the effort was “moderate.” BUT (and here is my issue) TR did not increase my progression levels at all.

I’ve noticed this in the past, that whenever a workout is incomplete, the progression levels do not increase. So this begs to ask the question- Does TR think an unfinished workout is equivalent to no workout at all?

Depends that sounds far enough from the end that it kind of wouldn’t count for bumping up a level.

Once the new stuff is fully released it will be mostly irrelevant.

Don’t worry about the answer because the huge new update is rolling out and PLs are going away.

PL are just now athele levels and exist for the purposes of manually selecting a workout and visualizing progress. Still a thing just way less important as far as the system selecting your next workout

Hey @charlottecopp

The workout is labeled as cut short due to your equipment issues. When a workout is labeled as “Cut Short” it does not receive credit.

In your case I see that you were very close to finishing it and labeled it as a Moderate effort, I will ask the ride recovery team to fill in the rest of the workout so you get full credit>>Progression Level upgrade

In these cases, just email support@trainerroad.com and we can help out much quicker!
