I am in my second week of TR and looking to find out how I can spontaneously extend my warm (cool) down after a workout. I would like to just ride a bit longer at the last wattage of the downward ramp at the end of the workout for maybe 10 minutes.
I am being taken out of the workout after it is finished. Starting “Free Ride” means I have to shift etc to get wattage and the associated noise (I have a smart trainer). I just started Taku then and put the intensity to 70%, which worked but seems not optimal.
This is a feature of iOS, but not yet a feature of the desktop version (at least not on Mac). Here is a post from the Facebook group from when it first came out:
Hi! Came across this thread today and wanted to let you all know we are actively working on this feature for our desktop apps. Will post another update when it’s available for all of you. Hang tight!
I tested out the beta version for extending the workout today. I really like the add on. Don’t take this as a complaint. My opinion is with the app in minimal mode the option to extend the workout can be much smaller. You can probably get away with it 1/8 the size it is now. Keep up the great work!
Hey all - forgot to update, but extend warmup and cool down is live in our Mac and PC now. Thanks for the feedback and being patient while we executed. Enjoy!
Are the extended warmups and cool downs available/compatible for an older MacBook Pro running OS X 10? When I download the latest TrainerRoad Mac app I get version 2.7.7 with a May 17, 2016 release date, which doesn’t feature these updates. Am I missing something?
Does the extend WU / WD feature only exist in Chad’s workouts? I’m not sure of how to include this feature or perhaps what wattage threshold this feature kicks in at if I create my own workout on the workout creator.
I haven’t tested, but I would try by making a new workout cloned from an existing TR one. You can start the new workout right away, and if the Extend Warm Up is present, you are good to go.
I am not sure how or where that is coded. Give it a shot and report back. We may need to add a Feature Request for that.
