Garmin workout screen

What does the downward arrow under the 3s power mean? That arrow always remains pointed downwards during my workouts regardless of the power relative to target (whether it’s up or down).
Also, what’s the rectangular box to the left of that?
TIA

The rectangular box indicates where your power is in relation to your target. If it’s in the large middle block it’ll turn green and you’re in range. If you’re above it’ll go up, if you’re below it’ll go down.

Thanks! Any idea on the downward arrow?

IDK. Mine flips pointing up when I’m above target and down when below target. Either way, it is colored red. At least that’s the way it was the last time I used it some time ago. IMO, the workout screen is crap for many reasons.

That tells you if your 3s power is either above or below target. When the bar on the left turns green (you’re within the target range), you’ll notice the arrow disappears. 3s is too short and constantly changing imo, so really doesn’t add much value.

I agree that the workout screen is crap, btw, and just build my own custom workout screen.

Thanks @Saddlesaur & @Pbase - That arrow stays pointing down all the time for me. Doesn’t matter I guess. Ya, the workout screen is not the best so I might build my own. I don’t see a data field for target power, bar the one we’re discussing here. So I guess it’s off to iConnect to find a target power data field??

I just look at the pop up when the interval starts for the target, and then look at “lap power” to see if my average is in range for the interval. If I miss the pop up, I swipe over to the default workout screen and read it there.
