I appreciate the jams for sure!!!
+1 - I also vote for Apple Health syncâing. My two main uses for strava are beacon and social. I use Apple Workout to actually log training. Now that running gets syncâd to TR (YAY!!) my Apple Watch data is more relevant and in depth than my phone.
Thank you!!
lol @killroy123
Iâll be sure to post updates here when available.
Thanks for your patience, all!
Didnât see that, but it also clearly did not sync for my run today⌠How does it work?
It is kind of odd that it doesnât sync with Apple Health. Itâs just about the only software that seems to not sync with health. Thereâs ways to get TR rides in to health, but they all kind of suck.
Run sync is in the âearly accessâ area of TR settings. Just check the box and you should be good to go.
+1 For the HealthFit integration at least
Are we all waiting for an update on the Apple Health integration? Or for TrainerRoad to allow @slizeray access to the API so the it can be added for HealthFit?
I was hoping that the latter would not be such a big deal. There are probably other apps that would be able to work as well then, such as RunGap.
Things have kinda resolved themselves since Strava reversed its position on Apple Health access. But Iâd honestly like to circumvent Strava and have yet another app I can remove if TR would do this directly. Moreover, would be great if TR workouts immediately were credited to Apple Fitness workouts as well.
This is kind of the sticking point for me. I donât really like using Strava to send activities to Apple Health. I much prefer when the device can send to Apple Health directly and I think TrainerRoad is the only one I use that doesnât do this.
With Strava having changed course on Apple Health access, this isnât something we have prioritised for the near future. However, we do understand that direct integration between Apple Health and TrainerRoad is a preference for many athletes, so it is something weâd like to do in the future! Thanks for your understanding
Iâve been using runGap for almost 2 years now and pay for the Swag bag, it allows 2 way syncing which is important for me, so runs on my AW goto Strava via RunGap, bike rides indoor go from Zwift/TrainerRoad to Strava and then Rungap syncs them into Apple Health. Outdoor bike rides go from Hammerhead â Strava â Health once again via Rungap. All automatically, or if Iâm impatient I just force a refresh whilst showering.
Q: Can this send information to Polar Flow?
I loved that app but Polar locked that down so tight it made it unusable.
Iâm another RunGap fan for syncing from AW to Strava/TrainingPeaks/etc. It also syncs outside rides from Garmin to Health to get more accurate move calories displayed on watch (without dual recording on watch).
Polar is on their list of supported platformsâŚand I see Polar Flow in the settings,
I also would like to see support for HealthFit or any sort of Apple Health export. But it fits a pattern of primarily Garmin / Strava centric middlemen to any data. It would be nice to see the platform open up more like to Apple Health, Polar, Suunto⌠Not everyone wants to go through Strava.
My TrainerRoad rides get into Apple Health and Apple Fitness apps through Strava fine. That said, they donât include heart rate data (if Iâm not wearing my Apple Watch while on TR). I have a chest strap BT connected to TR for the workouts, and the HR data is visible on Strava. The problem Iâm having is that the heart rate data isnât coming through.
Anyone else running into this?
Strava doesnât send HR data to Health. Same with Garmin Connect.
RunGap will.
I have RunGap setup to read from Garmin Connect and send to Health. You can do the same with Strava.
