Feature Request: Allow a connection of TrainerRoad to HealthFit App or allow fit file data export to Apple Health

HAHAHHAAHA this rules. Im so sorry

Coming back to this, what’s the status of the TrainerRoad to Apple Health syncing? Looking at this thread it seems long on the TR roadmap to AFAICT no avail…

Moreover, a likely easy way to help us with workarounds would be the option to download/copy/export the FIT file of any given activity directly in the iOS TR app.
Then one could simply open the TR app on the iPhone, go to the workout, download/export the FIT file to, e.g., HealthFit, which puts it into Apple Health…

Really looking forward to this as having to go to a browser after every TR workout doesn’t really support my decision making for TR while testing out new platforms to pick one best for training purposes:-o

Btw., I am using i.icu for overall training analysis, mostly because it also supports other sports in appropriate ways as well as health data , such that I can have all load and progress in one place.

my Work Arround:

TR workout send automatically to Drop Box, then i export the file there to HealthFit App nboth on my Iphone, so then the workout is saved in Apple Health, works really quickly but would be fine if everthing is automatic in this days.

The fact that Strava doesn’t sync my TrainerRoad workouts to Apple health app anymore makes this feature request more important to me than before!

I agree completely. I just spent about two hours trying to get my last two trainer road workouts into the apple health app. This used to be a seamless, automatic sync from strava, but doesn’t work anymore!? WTF Strava!?

Same problem here. Strava no longer syncing TR workouts to Health. Worked for Monday’s workout but didn’t for Wednesday’s. Strava support page was updated on Wednesday before I did my workout so guess this is now a permanent change and not a temporary problem. I can record future workouts using my Apple Watch but doubt the calorie burn figure from HR will be as accurate as that from a power meter. Better than nothing but would be great to have TR sync directly to Health at some point in the hopefully very near future.

Health App and Strava – Strava Support

UGGG I must have refreshed my phone 100x last night, 'WHY isn’t it syncing???"

thanks for the workaround - tag me if anything better comes along!!!

Totally, and with that recent update with Strava+Apple Health, its even trickier for our athletes, so I’ll bump the importance of this to the team!

Be sure to post this to them when you make the request

Hey, all. Following up about the recent issues TR athletes are having wiht Strava + Apple Health and some possible workarounds until the TR team can get full Apple Health integration on the roadmap.

Strava has changed how 3rd party activities in Strava sync to Apple Health, so now, any activities recorded from third-party apps, like TrainerRoad, that are synced to Strava will not sync to Health.
Currently, TrainerRoad does not support a direct sync to Apple Health, so the best workaround is to add the workout to Apple Health manually. Here’s how:

  1. Open Apple Health
  2. Go to Health Data (tab) > Activity
  3. Tap on Workouts
  4. Tap on the “+” sign (upper-right)
  5. Enter your workout data.

@IvyAudrain Thanks! :+1: Didn’t know you could do this in Health.

Wow. This is BS on Strava’s part.

Please be aware that activities recorded from third-party devices (Garmin, Zwift, Wahoo, Peloton, etc.) will not sync to Health.

That’s brand new and nukes the upload path I’ve used for years. So inspired, I took the opportunity to delete my Strava account.

Agreed. Especially since I have been paying for Strava for several years. It is the second time in recent memory they pull features for reasons that are either stupid or hostile to athletes. (Pulling support for Bluetooth sensors comes to mind.)

FWIW - the Dropbox sync, manually import to Healthfit path works well enough. Cost $5. Healthfit should just build in native TR support. Appears they have about everyone else.

@IvyAudrain the developer of Healthfit is a very open guy, if TR wants a sync for it, i can ask him, perhaps it is easier/cheaper to integrate as directly in Apple Health?

I‘d say the best workaround is to get the HealthFit app and use that to import the actual TR FIT file to Apple Health.
(5 € well spend;-)

I do love the HealthFit app. It would be nice to have integration with it sooner rather than later. But a full integration of TR with Apple Health is the best idea.

Just to cover the base, I also shared this in the other recent topic related:
