I had a set of these arrive today and was pleasantly surprised to see that they shipped with usb-c connectors rather than the micro usb connectors I had seen in reviews from GPLama and DC Rainmaker. I think both of them had complained slightly about that and said it would be an easy update and it was nice to see Favero had made the change. I certainly wasn’t expecting it, but maybe I’d missed an update somewhere.
It was the ones before the Pros that had micro USB. The PRO versions have always been USBC
Not quite. The MX2 (MTB/Gravel) started shipping with Micro-USB. Then the RS2 (road) came out, and that included USB-C. Both @gplama and I gave them a hard time about using micro-USB when it came out (MX).
Favero had mentioned it to me this past fall that they had finally run out of micro-USB adapters, and were switching over to USB-C. Good reminder to make a note in my MX review that it’s now USB-C.
Did they mention anyting about a Look body version when you spoke to them @dcrainmaker ?
I’ve got nothing against SPD-SL but all my other pedals and cleats are Look ![]()
Has anyone had luck using a USB C plug on the wall side?
I tried a few adapters but it seems like their USB on the wall side isn’t working for me
I
Favero
GPLama did his testing and found no issues with the update too.
At this point it’s clear that the Assioma Pros are the benchmark power meter, period. Accuracy, battery life, durability, compatibility, features. They aren’t the cheapest option, but they are competitive, which is great for a best in class product.
Anyone seen any power related problems since the recent battery life extension upgrade?
Mine is reading consistently 30 to 50 w below my Stages power meter, I’ve logged a ticket with their support but just wondering if anyone else had seen some unusual power related problems after the update
Thanks!
Not me…. doesn’t appear to be any grumbling on the web either…. hope you get your issue sorted ![]()
Yikes. Firmware update came out shortly before a major Esports event for me, and I delayed updating just in case something went wonky in case my dual recordings stopped matching up with my trainer.
Raised a ticket with their support but they really aren’t much help.
I calibrated the pedal power meter with a 15kg weight but each time I performed the test (repeated it about 15 times) it gave me different weight readings in the range of 15.15 to 15.57kg which is a big delta. The weight was static and was hung in the centre of the pedal.
When advised of this they replied “please note that the variations in the measurements you observed may be attributed to potential fluctuations in the weight used.“ - this is utter nonsense - how could an object change it’s weight several times over the space of a minute or less?
I asked them repeatedly for the instructions to reset the pedal to default firmware but they won’t give me this info (assuming that it possible)
Only option now is to send the pedal to Italy and wait until they do whatever test & checks are needed, while far from an ideal solution, there’s not really any other course of action.
I’ll keep ye posted ![]()
Sure would be nice to extend my spend in 2026 with Favero. Specifically an MX-3 single-sided SPD pedal body (that is counterbalanced) for no-look gravel clip-ins. I stare with envy at the new wolf tooth and Look offering improved ground clearance, lower weight, and streamlined profile.
You have three legs?
Nothing strange for me with the power since the update.
I have the MX-1 pedals - yesterday I smashed the right hand side pedal into a rock and the binding mechanism is ruined. I have a race next weekend and was thinking of running the left hand favero pedal with a shimano XT M8100 right hand pedal. They seem similar enough in size that it doesn’t feel weird. Any thoughts on this? Silly idea or no …
Not a silly idea…. you would probably be able to source a new RHS pedal body pretty quickly though?
I have ordered one online but not sure I will get my hands on it before the weekend. The shimano pedal feels fine and there is something about the sensation of clipping into a Shimano pedal that feels nicer than the Favero.
Have a question and hope to find it here, thanks in advance.
I have the MX pro and use these as my “zero set power meter” zo what I do, the power from the assioma mx2 pro are zero and my other powermeters I set the slope according (are all Quarq which is easy to do). Now I found something the could flip all upside down. When I do a ride with the MX2, I set the crank length in de app at 165 (my crank lenght) as when not having a correct length the power shown is way of. Now I found something strange a couple of times.
Start a ride, set the app crank lenght at 165, go riding, see that the power number is not matching the other power meter (10%) and when coming home, I opened the app and see the it been set back to 172.5 (not good). This happend more then once. Is there any body that can pinpoint what I’m doing wrong, or maybe I’m doing nothing wrong, the set lenght before the ride is correct and do not check the app afterwards?
Thanks for your help…
Your head unit will override and update what you set in the app - i assume that is what is happening here?
You will need to change the crank length to 165 on your head unit too.
Changing on the app is only necessary if you are using your pedals with a head unit or software that doesn’t/can’t set the crank length
Thx good point…, let me check and try..
